"The mount works nice for my jonboat. My clamps cracked also. Cabela's did replace my clamps for no charge. I decided to replace them with the Driftmaster Li'l Pro base #218-B which is available from Cabela's. The Driftmaster clamps are metal, work great and makes the mount sit a little lower in the water. Even though the metal clamps have threaded holes the bolts from the mount slide right through the threads like they did on the original clamps."

"product works good. I had a problem with the clamps though. Make sure to turn the screw handles in just enough to hold the bracket, Then adjust the nut to lock in the handle. If you turn in the screw handles to far the clamps seperate and crack. I had to order 2 new clamps."

"This product will only work with long shaft trolling motors. The mount sits so high on the bow rail that the prop will hit the boat on a 16' Starcraft alum. Also the rail clamps only hold on "square to the mount " rails. The strap system to keep the unit secured to the bow is a poor system. Had I not altered the unit trying to make it work, I would have returned it."
