Good unit peforms great,December 2, 2008
By ChuckKi7dgfrom Okanogan, Wa.
"I have a 25hp Yamaha on a 16.5 foot Lund. Unit performs great. Had a problem with the system and CMC sent a replacement with prepaid return for the defective unit. Great customer service when a Mfg will pay shipping both ways and no hassle on warranty. I rate it a 5 which takes into consideration the good customer service. Caution when you have the unit installed on your boat Don’t assume the installer knows what he is doing. The boat company that installed mine didn’t, even when I reminded them to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. They set it two low and the locking bolts hit the transom restricting how high to raise the motor out of the water. To correct will require drilling new holes and raising the mounting bracket."

CMC Tilt and Trim,June 5, 2008
By rondogfrom up-state NY
"After installing the unit at the lowest point on the transom and still being able to clear the engine locking bolts from the transom with the engine in the up position the motor was 4 or 5"too high. Checking CMC,s web page I found an adjusting plate that would resolve my problem, $205.00 almost half the price of the whole mechanical unit. For what the plate,s are I find the cost excessive and feel CMC. should supply guidelines with measurements.I would NOT recommend purchasing this product for this reason. The unit was a snap to install and works as advertised but is not much good to me if the prop is out of the water"

Excellent Product - PT35,August 21, 2007
By WhitesCovePirateFrankfrom Grand Lake, New Brunswick, Canada
"I purchased the PT35 to improve the usability and performance of my 25 Merc on the back of a 1648 Jonboat. I spent most of my time deciding on how high to put the unit on the transome, recognizing that with the 6+- inch setback at the stern that the motor would need to be higher than it's original location. In my case that increase in height was 3/4", somewhat less than the 1" to 3" suggested by the manufacturer. I suspect that is due to the flat bottomed nature of the Jonboats, and would change with a different bottom profile. After deciding the correct location for the unit, the installation was reasonably easy. The unit is beautifully made, and comes with great instructions and everything pertaining to the operation of the unit is supplied. The results are remarkable, a 20% increase in top speed, measurable improvement in fuel consumption, and much better handling. I am delighted with the PT35, and am considering purchasing a second unit for another boat. I would recommend this to anyone."

watch the slop in the swivel points,August 14, 2007
By frypanfrom washington state
"I have a 9.9 yamaha four stroke on the mod p 35. the bolt holes at the pivit point have broken. I nearly lost the motor. this enlarging of the bolt holes has been caused by the bouncing of the motor while traveling. I get less bounce with the motor vertical. what should have been done at manufacture was to have stainless steel sleeves in the alum ."

"I baught the cmc pt35 for my 35 hp 1987 murcery it is on a 16 foot 1988 bass tracker boat. I live right on the Wisconsin river and I went one year with out it and I baught this to hopefully improve my ability to get up the river better . If you live around here you know how low the river has been for the last few years . I have not yet got to use this product due to the ice that is on the river as of now but I will be ready when it gets warm ... So I will be back to tell you all about it"

Satisfied,November 21, 2006
By tkatfrom Illinois
"I bought the tilt and trim for my Mercury 25 on the back of a 16 ft Nitro bass boat. Since the boat is underpowered, the tilt and trim does a really nice job of getting the boat on plane. It does set the motor back a few inches, so that may make it more difficult to trailer because you have to extend your motor support. It does do the job, and I am happy with the purchase."
