cook book,February 9, 2008
By PLHSrfrom Virginia
"Not just a cookbook, full of information from the field to the table. I've been eating and cooking wild game for a long time and actually purchased this for my wife who now has a great new menu for our family, even learned a lot myself. It is "complete" and not like any other so called cook book I've seen in the past."

A bit over the top,April 7, 2007
By ej123from SATX
"Many of these game recipes are over the top though very comprehensive overall. I was hoping for more information on processing the venision. I was turned off by the author's advice to use head shots to dispatch the deer. Though he states one will either hit and kill their quarry or miss completely, I have seen on more than one occasion an animal suffering needlessly from a attempted head shot."

Interesting Addition to Kitchen Library,November 21, 2006
By CompanyCheffrom Redding, CT
"The ancedotal information contained in this book is interesting and helpful to the hunter in understanding how to harvest game that will be in the best condition for food preparation. The variety of recipes and uses for venison meals is extensive, but can seem overwheming. However the convenient categories make searching for a particular type of preparation easy. The book lacks specific information and illustrations as to butchering, curing and how to best use particular cuts, which I was hoping to find. To the experienced chef, the recipes will seem overly simplistic, but are easy to follow and to prepare for the less experienced."
