Like our popular Alaskan Guide sleeping pads, these thick, comfortable air beds include an innovative
self-inflating air chamber that eliminates the need for pumps. Just open the valve and the bed inflates
automatically. Deflates just as easily - open the valve, roll up, secure the attached compression straps and
close the valve. This pad is over 4" thick with a soft convoluted foam interior that insulates you from the
cold ground and cushions against bumps, rocks, sticks and uneven spots and provides maximum comfort.
It also makes a great spare bed at home or in the RV. The flocked PVC top keeps your sleeping bag from
sliding off during the night. Bottom is constructed of durable 150-denier polyester to guard against tears
and punctures. Oversized design accommodates large-framed campers, or join two or more pads together
using the attached hook-and-loop strips to create a larger sleeping surface that's perfect for couples.
Imported. Per each. Measures: 25"W x 76"L x 4"H. Weight: 7 lbs. 6 oz.

Very Nice,November 5, 2009
By hash77from MA
"This is a great mattress. A week boat camping and my back is great. It isn't for backpacking (it weighs 7#), but it is very comfortable. It takes some effort to roll up but it fits back into the bag. It seems really sturdy, and very comfortable. I'm very satisfied; I've used several other sleeping pads and this is far and away the best one."

Durable, works great,November 1, 2009
By bruceventurafrom Southern California
"When enflated, this pad is thick and comfortable. I let it enflate itself, then added a couple of breaths to get it a little stiffer. I used on a fall hunting trip in the bed of my truck. I could not feel the currugated surface of the bed through the mattress.
This pad is much warmer than an air mattress. I didn't expect that and was too warm in a down bag the first night (~40 F temp). Then next night I unziped the bag and draped it over me like a blanket. It is big when rolled up - too big for backpacking. For car camping, it is perfect. Very durable material - obviously built to last."

Self-inflating air bed,October 25, 2009
By QofSpadesfrom central VT.
"Got two of these for myself and my husband as we are getting older and feeling done with 'roughing it'. They were great, very comfortable, hook together and stay together easily. Liked the flocked surface that kept our bags from sliding around on it. Made the mistake of blowing them up a bit first night -- the mattresses don't need this and it actually makes them less comfortable as they are then TOO firm! After letting some air out on our second night, they were MUCH more comfortable, and we both got a great night's sleep, even though my husband is prone to insomnia. Did not find them very difficult to deflate and roll up either as some reviewers did -- just use your knees and your weight! A bit pricier, but very affordable compared to some other comparable mattresses and well worth it."

A Great Night's Sleep,October 1, 2009
By RockiesRiderfrom Creede, CO
"This is a high quality, self-inflating air mattress that really gets you off the ground. It inflates very quickly all by itself. I would give it 5 stars, except that it is a bit bulky for packing on a horse. It is about the size of our tent when rolled up. It would be way too much for a backpacker. Perfect for car camping or when you can have a pack horse to yourself!"

Very Poor Quality,September 13, 2009

"The top of the bed had a ¼ inch hole in it right out of the box. Any reasonable quality inspection would have discovered this obvious defect. Purchase at your own risk."

Perfect Match,April 21, 2009
By HuskyPilotfrom Northeast US, Canada,
"Regularly fly aircraft into remote areas with no airports for hunting, fishing and resupply. Need comfortable, insulating sleeping gear that is very light weight using minimum compressed space. Self inflating air bed works perfectly. Excellent insulation, good comfort - even on gravel bars. Sleeping bag doesn't slip off. You might have to blow it up a little, but so what - you can also adjust firmness to comply with rocks and uneven surfaces which is a definite plus."

self-inflating bed equals a good nights sleep,August 27, 2008
By Dano123from Eagle River, Alaska
"This air bed is heavy (if you're thinking backpacking) but perfect for car camping or a float trip. As others have reported, it is a little difficult to roll up, but I love mine anyway. It's thick and comfortable. It's flocked on one side so you don't slide around (and off) the mattress. I blow into mine after it has "self-inflated" to get more cushion but that's no big deal. I've found I had to blow into many other "self-inflating" mattress pads also. The bottom line for most folks is, "does the mattress pad provide a good night's sleep?". The answer is, "yes it does." You can pay more, you can pay less, you can go thinner and lighter or whatever you want, but for me, this is the right pad because I like to be comfortable at night."

Well Worth the Weight, Time, and Dollars,July 4, 2008
By BlackHawkMontana
"These beds are a little heavier, take a few more minutes to deflate and tightly roll, and cost a bit more than I wanted to spend. However, they are well worth the extra weight, time, and dollars for the excellent sleep you can get on them. We car and tent camped for two weeks, from Pennsylvania to Yellowstone and back in changing weather conditions and on various ground surfaces, and every night we were very comfortable on these beds! Our daughter liked her bed being easily connected with her mother's. My wife, who has a bad back, never had a single twinge of discomfort. And I slept soundly, knowing I made a great investment in our comfort and good nights of rest."

non inflating air bed,February 11, 2008

"I found that after being rolled-up for awhile or when used in cold weather the air pad would not self inflate. I had to inflate it with an air pump. Maybe a pump should be included with the air pad."

Cabela's Self - Inflating Air Bed,September 19, 2007
By ArthurILfrom Chicago, IL
"The air beds are very good. With a 4" thickness, they are comfortable. The felt top helps to prevent a person from slipping off. Two air beds fit well together in a van that is 4 feet wide. The beds are a challenge to roll up, but the comfort that they provide is worth it. Let a little air out if you want a softer bed. The velcro strips on the side hold two mats together well. The beds are the closest thing to a matress that I've slept on."

One of a kind mattress,November 20, 2006
By chopperjfrom near Sacramento, California.
"Cabela's Self-Inflating Air Bed is a one of a kind item. I looked all over for a mattress that would fit on an Army cot, be thick enough for comfort, be durable, and have tie downs that would attach to the cot. It was a joy to use in Afghanistan. Thank you."

Air Bed On Moose Hunt,November 20, 2006
By Kritterfrom Durango, Colorado
"Used in Cabela wall tent on moose hunt on shore of Kantishna River, which feeds Alaska Interior from North face of Mt. McKinley.
Liked that it was compact and secured by two easy tie ups, which I easily attached to Cabela's XL water proof bag for checking with me to Anchorage from Durango. Having been a resident of Alaska for almost 40 years, I know what I need to be comfortable and for ease of transport in boats, on horses, in airplanes, etc.
The self inflating air bag worked great, almost felt like I was sleeping at home instead of on a river bank under the Northern Lights.
