2 1/4oz Cabelas Canadian Spoons,September 10, 2009
By ECatcheMfrom Vermont
"Best lure I have for catching the big fish, I've trolled for pike with excellent results! I've even tried casting this lunker, catching my biggest Northern ever, and some monster bowfins, that some how managed to bend it! I keep three in my box at all times."

effective,July 23, 2009
By SethfromVermontfrom St. Johnsbury, Vermont
"Bought these to use for pickerel and pike, and they have worked well. The yellow five of diamonds and red and white have been excellent in the medium sizes. The 1 1/4 is a bit wide for its weight and doesn't cast as well as the daredevle equivalent.
These are good lures and would have gotten a 5 stars if they were a bit more rust resistant. But, awesome spoons for the price."

"The spoon is good quality & has excellent action. The hooks came out of the package rather dull, but once hit with the stone, hook well."

Canadian spoons,October 6, 2008
By OKtrouterfrom Oklahoma City
"These are comparable to any of the name brand models on the market. Absolutely deadly on pike. They worked well in situations when the fish were not hitting top-water. A fairly quick retrieve keeps the spoon traveling a foot or so below the surface, bringing the fish up to a bite. I would give 5 stars but I personally prefer to use other methods if they are working. The pike would engulf the whole spoon, making release sometimes in doubt. So that is really my problem and not a problem with the lure itself."

Great spoon but...,September 23, 2008
By Kumlafrom Wilmington, IL
"These have the correct action but are too light. They need to be heavier, sorta like the Crocodiles and Little Cleo's.

Canadian spoons,July 28, 2008
By Fosmofrom Waconia, Minnesota. Hunt in NW Wisconsin.
"I have always had good luck with the blaze orange style when fishing in Canada. My last two spoons were only 2 years old but the paint was missing in a perfect arch above the hook on the spoon from catching so many pike. I went to a bigger size to see if that attracks bigger fish."

Lot of Flash, For not Much Cash!,May 29, 2008
By RTDCSPMSGTfrom Connecticut
"I used the large chrome 7/8 oz. size as a cheap version of a bunker spoon for blues in Long Island Sound. They work great, however, since I release most of the fish, I changed over the treble for a single 7/0 which I tied up as a bucktail. It works even better!"

Canadian spoons,March 25, 2008
By cheeseheadintxfrom Houston,TX
"after 25 plus years of canadian fishing for big pike I can say I've caught more big fish on this type of spoon than any other. Several years ago Blue Fox discontinued making the "AQUA SPOON". I ran out of my stockpile of the blue fox spoons a few years ago and found these are the next best thing. My complaints about the Canadian spoons..... 1) the hooks on the large spoons are too small for the size of the lure... I swapped mine out for larger trebles 2) the paint finish is terrible, the paint flakes of very easily after a few fish, I applied a clearcoat to them all for this year and hope this helps."

Pike Lovem',March 25, 2008
By easyspoon
"We stumbled on these spoons a few years back when the pike outbit them 4 to 1. This is all I use now. Firetiger is the ticket in stained water on the St Lawrence and bays of Lk Ontario. We've caught just about everything including muskie on them. Change presentations until you find the one they like."

Great Summer lure!!! Snaps Fit this one!!!,February 24, 2008
By krispyGlakefrom Frozen Tundra,WI
"I went fishing in a fast stained watered River. I first cought a Gar on a minnow on jig. After not catching any fish I decided to try my new YELLOW and RED Diamond spoon from Cabelas. I cought 2 Northerns and 3 Drum with many misses on fish. This was a over performer Lure!!!!!! Great lure for the conditions(raining). I bought another like this in the same color from Red Devil but I couldn't fit my steel leader Snap into it. I also didn't catch any fish.
Cabelas performed a great lure again. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

very good lure,November 21, 2007
By Tyler2012from Ham Lake,MN
"This is a very good lure for northens and walleyes. I bought this lure at the Cabelas store before I went to Canada and Im glad I did. We were supposed to be fishing for walleyes but it was so hot I decided to go northern fishing. I caught one on about every five cast. The design on the fire tiger modle atracted northerns all the time. I didnt catch many big ones because I had a smaller version of the lure. But I caught a lot until the hook came of of the body so I was left with the spoon part. If you want to catch bigger fish I would recommend the larger version of the lure. I use a lot of lures that have a fire tiger design which catch a lot of fish so I recommend the fire tiger version. I even caught a walleye on the lure."

Cabela's Canadian Spoons,September 10, 2007
By cellfoneguyfrom Little Rock, AR
"I bought a few of these for a trip to canada. I found these spoons to have less action than the daredevil version. These spoons are not as aerodynamic and tend to "balloon" when cast into a breeze. They do have good paint on them and I did catch some nice pike using these spoons. If you can buy a dozen at one time it's actually cheaper to buy daredevils."

Disappearing Orange,July 19, 2007
By Pikefisherfrom Mendota, Illinois
"I ordered the fluorescent orange Canadian Spoon because this is my favorite lure for Pike and had great success in the past with this spoon, however I lost my last one on a previous trip to Canada. I recently took another trip to Canada armed with my trusty orange spoon which was my first choice of lures out of the tackle box but to my dismay after only four cast I noticed all of my cherished fluorescent orange color was completly gone! The rest of the trip I had the worst Pike fishing I've had in 12 years of trips to Canada. Needless to say I was very disappointed with this lure."

Spoon Works Great,June 6, 2007
By Nexstarfrom Orlando, FL
"Used Cabela's spoons and another well known brand (red & white and black & white) side by side on recent Canadian fly-in fishing trip. The northern pike bit both brands equally and often. The Cabela's black & white got some walleye too."
