"Used this item on trip to Canada. It worked great on the big Northern Pikes that was caught in our boat. Also help save fish that were in the throw-back slot as was able to hold fish better, remove hooks easier and return fish to water faster. Great item."

"I really liked this product, particularly for Pike when using lures with multiple treble hooks. It makes it a very safe process to handle them and remove hooks. Not as big a deal with single hook jigs but it is easy on the fish and does not deslime them. Only challenge is for the few fish with mouth closed, that could be improved but everyone loved using them."

"I use this fish gripper when rockfishing. great way to hold thrashing, spiny fish. the jaws lock and hold well. have saved myself many jabs from fish spines since using this product. I think every fisherman would be wise to have one of these in his tackle box."

"Can't beat it for the price, and it floats. Provides a firm grip when you need it. Used on a 4 lb catfish so far. Only remark is that it prob will take two hands to release the grip, so feels a bit awkward. Overall, I'd buy it again, and did so to give to a friend"

"I wade fish the flats of Northeastern Florida, both fly and spinning, one rod on my back and one in hand. Everything I need is carried in, or on, my vest and belts.

"I fish mainly on Florida West Coast for trout and snook. This tool works pretty well on larger trout but can be an issue with smaller fish. You need to turn it a certain way in order to keep from hurting the fish. I'd like to see the same version but with a smaller clamping area. Still beats spending big money on other more expensive models; and it floats, which is a big plus since I fish out of a kayak."

"Admittedly, we don't chase a lot of toothy, dangerous gamefish. Mostly our bass and panfish wouldn't need much more than a thumb...but recently we got into some stripers and ripped up our thumbs on some nice 10+ pound stripers- (great fun in a kayak, by the way!)
anyway..we got to looking on internet, and the much, much more expensive ones probably work great...but for these prices? we had to try - got two of them. My son and I both liked them a lot. we used them on mostly bass this past weekend...but they even worked on some crappie. I know, ya don't need 'em for these fish...but we wanted to try the fish gripers and that's what we caught. We found the fish almost never move once gripped, and getting the treble hooks out were easier....something I still worry about with my preteen son - heck, I'm not wanting to stuck, but it does happen with the thumb at times.
The wrist strap, the way it locks like a vise-grip so you can use that hand for something else, the way it floats, and what it does...I think these will be a permanent addition to our bags."
