Issues with 10 rnd magazines,

"I ordered two 10 rnd 223 magazines earlier this year for my 181 series Mini 14. I received them almost instantly from Cabella (5 stars for handling my order!!!). The manufacturer was Triple K... The magazines themselves had no manufacturer markings at all, or any other markings for that matter.
Due to health reasons, I only got around to trying them this morning. As a test I loaded one magazine with 10 rounds of 223 ( Actually PMC M193, but this was not going to be a live fire test). I had no problems filling the magazine, however, things went downhill from there.
I try to insert the loaded magazine in my rifle, but it was rather difficult to get the front pin to latch ( Yes, I know how to do this). It took several trys to get the back latch to latch and in the end it took a rather sharp smack on the floor of the mag with the palm of my hand to get it to seat.
The rounds appeared to feed properly manually, provided I fully released the bolt from it rear most position.
Then the problems really started. I could not get the magazine release to release unless I applied an inordinate amount of force.
I decided to try the second magazine, as it came from the package without loading any rounds in it at all. It would not enter the well far enough to get anywhere near the front pin latch.
Upon examination, both magazines appear to be too wide at the point where they engage metal in the Mini's well and deep gouges resulted.
A potential problem is that the follower is plastic and I have doubts as to longevity of the plastic protrusion that is supposed to hold the bolt open on an empty mag."

"Triple K mags are always a perfect fit and function flawlessly. I have some for my pistols as well and have never had a feeding failure or fit problem. I would recommend these to anyone that needs extra mags that are built to manufacturer's specs and not high priced like OEM parts."

"I was worried to by these mags with all you read about in the forms. But to my suprize, These mags work flawlessly.
I bought 2 30 rounders and they fight tight, no moment at all, in fact they fit better than rugers factory mags. They will feed any ammo I run through them with no problems. And the price was right!"

"The clip is OK. It is hard to find a decent mini 14 clip. It is a little tough to get to lock into the magazine well and took a little work to get to function correctly with the slide action"

Triple K Mini-14 10 Round Mags,

"Mags are well made and a good fit in the Mini-14. The Mini has reliably fed about 500 rounds through my(4) 10-round mags without a hitch.
One downside is that the 10 rounders will take more than ten rounds - maybe 11 or 12. If you have leftover cartridges in a half-spent mag, you have to unload then reload again to a full 10-count. If you count on the mag's ability to stop taking rounds then you will be over the designated capacity."

"I must say at first I was skeptical about aftermarket magazines because I have purchased aftermarket before and I had to send them back because they did not feed right nor did they even chamber up correctly. But I must say that I am impressed with the fit and functoin of the triple k. I will definately be purchasing more. Can't beat the price over a factory for quality."

"MY FRIST EXPERIENCE WITH THESE MAGIZINES DID NOT GO WELL. BOTH MAGIZINES FAILED TO LOCK IN TO THE GUN WITH EASE. WITH ONLY 10 ROUNDS IN EACH BOTH JAMED AT LEAST ONCE . I WILL RETEST EACH BEFORE CONTACTING THE SUPPLIER."

"The 10 round magazines were just fine. The 20 round magazines would only hold 10-12 rounds. Anymore rounds were impossible to load into the magazines. Apparently the springs are just too strong."

"I have a new mini14 tactical. These Triple-K mags work very well with it. The chamber stayed open after the last round. They fit snuggly. No ftf or ftc yet. I bought more and returned the promag polymer mag that I bought at the same time (wouldn't even strip the first round). I have a growing suspicion that some mags work better on old mini14s and others work better on new mini14s."

"mag did not fit properly. did not hold the bolt open on the last shot it jammed no matter what type of ammo i feed it. I ended up shooting the piece of junk then stomping on it while yelling very bad words. Then i got kicked off the shooting range!.
so in other words, I don't recomend this magazine."

Mini-14 High Capacity Magazines - 30 round,

"While the 10 and 20 round magazines fit and function well, the 30 round magazines would only seat when a great deal of force was applied, making it extremely difficult to remove them. When I used a caliper to measure them I found that the 30 round magazine was slightly wider and the locking lug was positioned differently. I might have been able to use a dremel tool to modify them but wasn't sure it would work so I returned them. I will stick with the 20 round capacity in the futute for high capacity magazines."
