Item notes The manufacturer recommends the installation of an additional recoil lug because of the additional forces generated when used with magnum calibers (such as 7mm Remington Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum & .338 Winchester Magnum). Contact Special Orders at extension 121 to special order a stock with the reinforcement lugs installed.

bell and carlson stock,April 22, 2009
By rockchuckhunterfrom Idaho
"this stock was junk. poor finish, not even close to fitting my rifle, even though it was supposed to be a drop in fit. a rock hard recoil pad, just very cheaply made and finished. I was replacing a bell and carlson stock purchased many years before which was of a much superior quality. I sent this back rather than spending countless hours fitting and replacing the recoil pad."

Bell & Carlson Stock,October 1, 2007
By dvgmfrom South Texas
"This is my fourth B&C stock and everyone of them fit the rifle action like a glove. The action dropped in and it was ready to go. I didn't have to do any alterations on the stock or change the action screws. The B&C stocks do not scratch or mar as easily as the original wooden stocks. There is also a noticeable reduction in weight of the rifle but it retains a good balance. I recommend it highly."

Bell & Carlson Stock,March 31, 2007
By BigMattfrom Charlotte, VT
"I ordered this stock as a replacement for a Savage 110E in .270 caliber in the black web finish. A friend of mine had gotten one last year and I liked the feel and it shot great. I am very please with the look and feel as well as accuracy. The one downfall is that it is not a true "drop in" replacement stock. While the action dropped in and the screw holes lined up, I was not pleased with the fit around the tang area of the stock. I took it to a local gunsmith and had him remove some of the material and glass bed for a better fit. Still, this was a minor modification and probably adds to the accuracy anyway. If you are not overly concerned about the cosmetic appearance, then the action will indeed "drop in" to these stocks."

Not so fast...,December 7, 2006
By tommyjoefrom Valley Forge, PA
"Nice stock for the money but it didn't fit my Remington 700 ADL. The stock requires major inletting to allow the bolts around the trigger guard to engage the receiver. Just an exercise in futility if you expected to drop it in. A real disappointment. Had to return it."

Bad fit,November 20, 2006
By lovemyglocksfrom Wichita Falls, Texas
"The trigger guard and floor plate cut-out on the bottom of the stock was not centered, so the trigger guard bolts wouldn't lineup. I returned the stock to the Bell and Carlson factory and they sent me a replacement that was the wrong color and had the same problem as the previous stock. TOTALLY DISGUSTED!"

Bell and Carlson replacement rifle stock.,November 20, 2006
By GrouseHunterfrom Long Island, NY
"What can I say. You're not buying a premium rifle stock. But you're not breaking the piggy bank either. Finish is not 100% but the stock fit perfectly. Three screws out, three screws in. Less than 10 minutes. If you need a stock you can scrape against a tree and not care, this is it. Also, the built in recoil pad is pretty good."
