Ram-Line Replacement Stock for 870 Remington,November 18, 2009
By Rafbatfrom Anna, IL
"I was looking for a quality but affordable synthetic stock to replace the wood stock on my 870 Remington shotgun. I decided to take a chance on the Ram-Line replacement stock in Advantage MAX-4 camo. I have been very pleased with the stock. It feels great, works great, and has served my purpose. I have used it numerous times wading through the hardwood/cypress swamps of southern Illinois duck hunting and it has performed great. I would recommend this stock to anyone looking for a good quality synthetic camo replacement stock."

"Easy install--20 minutes. The camo "adhesion" seems cheap, small chips flaked off forearm during installation. Reduced weight in the butt, now seems a little barrel heavy. No modifications needed--out of the box onto the gun, done."

"Perfect fit for my 11-87 SP. Had no problem installing this product rite out of the box!! Fit perfectley!! I have been on many Duck and Goose hunts since install and have had no problems, the recoil pad is very good!! If you have a 1100 or 1187 I would highly recomend this product!! It reduces some weight also."

"This product is one of the nicest products I've purchased. its really easy to install if you read the instructions and know a little bit of what you're doing. It also makes the gun a ton lighter making it way easier to maneuver."
Ram-Line replacement shotgun stocks,December 2, 2008

"Debated between this stock and one made by manufacturer of my 870 shotgun. The fit was perfect and they sent tools to remove front stock. Everything took about 15 minutes to change. How this stock holds up is yet to be seen."
Almost Excellent,November 11, 2008
By meatmachinemanfrom Boise, ID
"Based on the reviews of others about it fitting 870 super mags despite Cabelas saying it won't, I bought it. I had no issues with the forend wrench or any other aspect of installation. The only reason it got 4*s was it is just a hair smaller than the receiver. While I had the gun apart, I added some of that shrink to fit gun cover stuff, and now the gun looks amazing. So far I've had it out on three hunts this season with zero problems thus far. Very pleased."
Replacement stock for Mossberg 500,October 22, 2008
By Chuckybillfrom Michigan deer hunter
"The stock fit very well although the forearm is a little shorter than the original wood forearm. I have'nt shot the gun yet so I don't know how bad the recoil is going to be since the hollow buttstock is much lighter than the original. If it is too bad I will fill the void with something to add some weight. It seems a little pricey but I'm sure it took a lot of money to tool up to make these things."
Update on the Stock and Forend,October 12, 2008
By Saxatilis2from Silver Spring, MD
"So I got the replacement stocks today. This time the camo coat/paint was adhered to the checkered grips. It took me about 10 minutes to install both the butt stock and forend, very simple installation. Some reviewers had noted that the tool provided to take off the forend nut was flimsy or cheaply made...evidently RamLine was listening because that tool is very solidly built now...I had no trouble taking off the forend nut. Some others had also talked about the forend needing some file/sanding work...mine was in good shape, but you have to be careful when tightening the forend nut to ensure that the forend itself is centered on the barrel. As for the butt stock...the butt pad is very cushy and fits perfectly, much better than the factory Remington butt pad. The butt stock also fit flawlessly onto the receiver, unlike some other reviewers comments. Even though Cabelas says this stock doesn't fit 870 Super Magnums, I tried putting this stock onto mine anyway because another reviewer said it fit theirs. I can assure you it does, I have cycled 3.5 inch shells through it with no problem (both unshot and shot). Not sure why they say it doesn't fit properly...the stocks were essentially identical to my Remington synthetic stocks. Also, I thought I would share my little trick for adding weight to the butt stock to reduce recoil. I threaded twenty 3/8 inch steel nuts onto the butt stock bolt (about 12 inches long) and taped them secure with some duct tape. It added about 1.0 pound to the weight of the gun. Good luck on your purchase!!! Highly recommend this stock now!"
Defective Product - Checkered Grips Lost Camo Coat,October 8, 2008
By Saxatilisfrom Silver Spring, MD
"Just received my Ram-Line Replacement Shotgun stocks in the mail from Cabelas, and was totally disappointed to see that the checkered pattern grips on both the stock and forend were defective. The camo coating for some reason didn't stick to ~99% of the grooves resulting in the grips having a dotted look that was tan in color. Looks very bad. So I called Cabelas and they are exchanging it for another one, with special attention or instructions to the packers to inspect the product before shipping to ensure the camo coating adhered correctly to the stock. I'm very skeptical if I really want the stock anymore, because now I'm afraid after a few uses the camo coat is going to wear off of the grips."

"Both the stock and the fore end fit perfectly. Thirty minutes tops to make the change. Another reviewer had trouble with the spanner wrench. I put a little penetrating oil on the forend lock nut ahead of time and the spanner wrench took it off with ease. I was pleasantly surprised with the fit."
Great product,January 8, 2008

"Works well Easy and fast to install, (After17 years the original stock was hard to take off so be ready to use some elbow grease. Liquid Wrench is a good idea) Makes the gun lighter. Good for long walks but increase the kick a bti."
"I bought the product today and when I got home I put it on. The only problem I had was with the included spanner wrench, it took some bending with channel locks to make it fit. The stock and fore end both fit very well. I can not wait to use it in the field now."
Horrible, not great for all purpose use.,November 17, 2007
By Stupidhunterfrom AZ
"These stocks came unfitting to my Remington 870 express, didn't work as a good paddle for my kayak, advantage max 4 came off when i was scrambling eggs on it over an open fire. Then I tried to use them on my browning, but know, they would convert, all in all, these are some great stocks"
Stocks 5 Star Spanner Wrench 1 Star,October 31, 2007
By Staffordfrom Camden, ARK
"I love the way my shotgun looks now that I put these stocks on, & would deffinantly recogmmend these to a friend & infact already have... BUT the spanner wrench that comes with the stocks to take the forearm nut off was destroyed by the time I got the nut off. I would deffinantly recogmmend that Ramline spend a few more dollars on some stronger metal. Oh & had to shave the forearm stock down just a little bit so that it didn't rub on the barrel."
