Triple K Shotshell Belt Slide - capacity 6 shells,June 30, 2009
By SnidelyWhiplashfrom SASS member in Wisconsin
"I bought the belt slide for Cowboy Action Shooting. They have guidelines about authenticity and appearance and the Triple K belt slide meets those. I wish they had an 8 shell carrier as I could fit that on my belt along with my 2 holsters and integral loops for pistol rounds.
It looks good and is reasonably priced. I've used it in 2 matches so far with no problems."

Basic but effective,February 17, 2009
By Inchwormfrom Southern California
"We bought this and another similarly-priced unit from Cabela's, evaluating them for use in cowboy-action shooting. Compared to Cabela's other unit (O__ L__) this one was plainer and narrower vertically with no decoration, but has longer shell loops, better adapted to mounting a stop-thong or rivets to regulate shell height for grabbing, and is of stiffer leather.
We used oversize wood dowels to expand the shell loops partway down, since as received they were rather snug on the shells (but probably OK for hunting use.) We also threaded a lateral thong through drilled holes near the bottom, to serve as a shell stop and keep the shells high up for grabbing. One could untie and remove the thong for hunting, of course, letting the shells slide down to the bottom for security; the unexpanded bottom section would keep them from sliding out.
Belt attachment is via a rather loose loop at each end, rather than the full-length flap on the other slide. The slide would be too loose on the belt for cowboy-action use. However, a screw or rivet could be put through easily to tighten the loops -- or the slide could be laced to the belt to keep it in place.
This slide (or the other unit, also stocked by Cabela's) would serve perfectly well for starters, at much less cost than the fancy shotshell belts from the custom outfits -- though the latter are great and may be indicated after a season or two. Don't expect these slides to have worn out by then, though -- they seem to be made for the long haul."

"Keep this for spare shells on the belt of your trapshooting pouch. Hard to get at if hunting in late season with a heavy coat. Size, fit and finish excellent (both 12 & 20). Shells secure but not too tight."

"Excellent quality for the price, most leading websites offer these slides for Cowboy Action Shooting at double Cabelas price. This item is great for CAS shoots or to carry just a few shells out for a quick afternoon hunt when you don't want to be weighed down by a full vest or shell belt."

Triple K,November 20, 2006
By Kegs
"Before, I wasn't a big fan of shotguns, but I knew of their usefullness, so when i went squirrel hunting I knew I needed a slide that could get me the shells quickly for my fathers single barrel 12 gauge. I had no trouble getting the second shell off, and we had a nice squirrel dinner to prove it. I never have trouble skeet shooting, bird hunting, or small game hunting now that I have a way to make a break action shoot with greater speed, without a big detriment to aiming. It is easy on the budget and is easy to use. With the proper number of shells one needs to hunt or skeet shoot with, it isn't heavy or cumbersome. Belts take away from room for my Ka-Bar, and some slides are made of weak cloth. This has all the toughness of a leather belt with the size and versatility a slide provides."
