"Bought this holster for my hunter mark 3 and it fits peerfectly just as the previous posters said it would. The leather is a bit on the oily side, but that should be absorbed over time. high quality and nice looking....."

"Just received my holster for my Mark III 22/45. Cabela's description says for Mark I and II but others said it fit the Mark III so I ordered it. I must have got the new packaging because the holster now says it fits Mark I, II and III, which it does perfectly. Like all leather holsters just put your pistol in there and leave it for a couple of days and all is good. The only thing some may not like is the white contrasting stitching, but can be toned down with a little oil."

"I orederd the 6 1/2" holster for a 6" ruger standard pistol The holster is a bit too long but fits good and snug. The holster came heavily oiled but I stuffed several paper towels in it and heated with a hair dryer. This absorbed most of it. The mag pouch on the side held the mag firmly. This holster is better than I expected and I would recommend it to anyone."

"Bought this for my MKiii hunter 5 1/2". I was concerned about the fit but it was perfect. The strap is designed to fit best with a magazine in the magazine carrier. My holster was slightly oily to the touch but I imagine that will go with a little wear. All in all I am very happy with the fit as there are not a lot of options available for this pistol."

"Great holster,but buyer beware. The stock Mark 2 front sight has a sharp edge pointing towards the rear of the gun. Before placing gun in holster file down the edge or the gun will get stuck and plow the leather on the inside. The harder you pull the more damage will incur. This happened to me. Cabelas and Triple K worked with me and replaced this really good holster. Great customer service on both ends. 5 stars for a quality holster along with great customer service. I believe a warning should be posted about the front sight issue. I am sure this has happened before? The fix is simple and quick."

Good quality but rough on the edges...,July 6, 2009

"Holster fit my 6 7/8" Competition Target Mark III like a glove. That is without the optic mounted. I think I may try cutting a slot to accommodate an optic. The target grip's wide thumbrest did not fit very well, but it forced in, and I'm confident it will stretch to fit better over time. I wouldn't want it too loose. I do have a problem with the spare magazine pouch. It fits so tight that when a magazine is slid into it, it grabs the thumb tab for loading rounds, dumping cartridges into the pouch. I don't see this improving unless i jam something much bigger in there to stretch it out quite a bit.
In the end, this is very high quality, thick leather, oiled appropriately, to last a long time. I just wish they had paid more attention to fit and finish and make it work how it should right out of the package. I would have liked to see the belt loop rotate using detents so you could set it to ride your at whatever angle you prefer. I guess for less than $60 I'll take this one before spending $200 on one that does everything perfect. I can make this one work, and it looks pretty nice."

#1 BEST holster for MKIII Hunter,June 18, 2009

"I purchased two of these, for two Ruger MKIII SS Hunter pistols, both fluted bull barrels w/fiber optic sights. One is a 5 1/2" and the other is a 6 7/8" barrel. As stated in previous reviews, they are a tight fit initially but, when left in the holster for a while (or you can warm the leather w/a hair dryer), it slides in and out with a snug fit. I really like the spare clip pouch. Great quality and workmanship and a sharp looking match with the pistol. I have previous reviewers to thank, because their reviews convinced me to buy this product. Triple K Inc. will tell you that the MKIII Hunter bull barrel w/fiber optic sight will not fit these holsters which are made for MKI and MKII pistols, but they absolutely will. You can get this product elsewhere, but don't waste your time looking as I did. Cabelas has the best price and s/h cost hands down. Cabelas said that the 5 1/2 inch holster would be backordered, but that's ok as it arrived only 2 days after the first one did."

"I got this for my Ruger Standard, and it's a nice holster, especially for the price, but it has a few flaws. FYI, this WILL fit a Mk III 22-45! (At least the kind with the bull barrel with the flattened sides.) On to the flaws - the holster came very "wet" - it's damp to the touch with oil, and leaves sloppy marks on the gun every time it's used. It'll wear in, and i guess is preferable to being too dry, but the oil all over the gun is annoying. The magazine pouch will not accommodate the large button on the old style mags - this is only a problem if you want to put an empty mag back in though. As with many holsters, this fits very snugly when new, and probably needs some miles put on it to draw smoothly and not leave a clump of cow hair on the front sight. This review comes off as a bit harsh, but for less than $60, it's a great holster and worth 4 stars."

"Used for my 22/45 and fit perfectly. Tad snug but releases easily from holster. Clip stowage is perfect and snap strap is properly aligned with excellent fit. Workmanship is excellent with all stitching and leather work perfect. Don't know how it could be much better. Definately recommend to anyone with the Mk I, Mk II or Mk III pistol."

"Was a little sceptical about purchasing after reading the previous reviews, but I took a chance! I can say the holster fit great on my MIII 22/45 even though its not described to fit that particular pistol. Finish was good and was not oily as I had read some other post complain of. I wonder if there is some inconsistency in the manufacture or HAS BEEN. I like this holster , the magazine fit snuggly and I like that so it doesnt get lost when the holster is unsnapped and the strap was a perfect fit. Good field holster. Fits my belt great. I do think its a little bit expensive though but I am happy to find a decent holster for this particular handgun as there is not a lot of choices for it that I can find."

"I ordered this for my 5 1/2" Bull barrel Mark III. The holster fits like a glove. The clip pouch was a little tight but with use and in time it will be fine. When I contacted Triple K they said it would not fit the Mark III bull barrel but obviously they haven't tried one. This is a great match for a fine pistol."

"The holster was better than I expected. Good quality leather and workmanship. It comes coated with lots of leather oil, but that is not a problem to wipe off. My Ruger MKIII Hunter fit tight at first--had to push it in the holster, but after it sat in the holster for a couple of days giving the leather a chance to conform a little, it's now fits perfect. I am very satisfied! May even order another for my standard Ruger MKIII."

"This is a quality holster. It did not fit my Mk II Ruger like a glove so I put the holster in water, wrapped my gun in plastic and placed it in the holster for 3 days. It did dry out and now fits perfectly. I certainly would order another one if I had another handgun."
