"Construction is good.
Instructions would be helpful. I am using the pad in what I would consider to be an inside-out configuration. The suede side, with the Cabela's logo arrived on what would be the outside of the pad (also, I would note, as pictured on the website, which as pictured would be a correct left hand fit). The buckle on the chest strap also indicated that this would be the configuration in which to use the pad. But, with this configuration, the pad fit on my right shoulder, not my left. When I turned the pad inside out, (suede toward my body, and nylon shell toward the butt stock) the chest strap would only work with the snap buckle at an awkward angle (not curving with the torso, but sticking out a little bit). In order to have the buckle confirm more to the curve of my chest, I needed to twist the elastic strap 180 degrees. I know this is not a great big deal, but for a piece of equipment that ended up costing nearly $40 delivered, I would expect some literature indicating how the item is to be worn. I returned the original pad stating that it was not correct, and was sent a replacement exactly like the first. I like the product, but, as stated, a little direction on proper use would be really helpful."

"I purchased this recoil pad to tame some of the pounding that I have to endure on the trap range. I can honestly say that it is a very good product. Well made and sharp looking too. It works very well, in softening the recoil from my 12 gauge Browning. I would highly recommend."

Great Product for the Money -- Saves Your Shoulder,July 27, 2007

"I have two "boomers" a Savage Tactical 7mm Rem. Magnum and a Ruger .300 Win. Magnum. Both of them kick like a mule, since they're not ported or compensated. Spending some time with these on the range are almost guaranteed to bruise the shoulder by the end of the day. Put the Cabela's recoil pad on with these rifles, and I found I could shoot my "boomers" all day without bruising or pain. The pad is pretty easy to put on, with adjustable straps for a snug fit, and the pad is not so thick as to significantly affect my cheek weld. The product is made of materials that look to be durable, and I expect it to last a long time. Definitely worth the investment!"
