Good Ammo,

By 6Lvarminter

"I've heard Black Hills was good stuff so Cabela's had these on sale and I tried a box. They shoot sub min. in my Stag Arms Super Varminter 1/8 twist barrel. Good ammo but a little too pricey when not on sale."

.308 & .223 BTHP Match,
December 21, 2009
By Arturus
|
"Yep, that good. AT 100: .5 for the 7.62/308, dime-size groups with 68gr match 5.56/223 out of a 20in HBAR AR (both from 1:9 barrels). Sub MOA easy out to 200 from both. Well worth the money if you want consistently superior accuracy and you don't reload."

"I shoot this and only this out of my 20" heavy stainless steel White Oak barrel 1/7 twist. With a 8x Power scope this stuff reaches out beyond 500 meters. I have had groups as small as 7" at 500 yards on a good day. Very dependable and clean shooting. After 100 rounds on a typical day, it takes lass then 5 hoppes swabs to clean the barrel. (5 dry swabs too) Chamber aslo says pretty clean. I love this stuff and I hope Cabelas never runs out!
Just so you know, Bullets drop about -14" at this range for a rifle zerod at 300yards. A shorter barrel would drop more."

"This is the most accurate ammo shooting out of a Savage 10FPLE2 rifle.
To the editorial team: If I can't mention Savage, you can change it to "a 26" bull barrel w/ 1 in 10" rifling.""

Black Hills 68 gr. MP--PERFECT!,
November 18, 2009
By stackemup
from Corpus Christi, Texas
|
"The Black Hills 223 68 gr. match point is a great round. I use it in a 1 in 8 twist 18 inch rifle (with a 2.5-8 power scope). On the shooting range off the bench it puts 10 shots in 1/2-3/4 inch groups at 100 yrds when I take my time, a better shooter could improve on this no doubt. Has the ability to reach out there better than the 55 gr. In the wind it has much better performance as well. In south Texas we are constantly fighting the wind and these are a big help. Feeds great. Shoots clean."

Excellent Product!,

"Great product - excellent accuracy (1/2 groups), reasonable extreme spread velocity ranges, BUT . . . . don't think you're going to get 2800fps out of them. I have shot 3 boxes of 338 Lapua and all were chronographed in the 2730 to 2750 range with a 28" barrel. Other than that, great stuff!"

"As always, Black Hills makes a fine, consistent product. This load shoots great through my Steyr SSG, and like all good "match" loads, allows the rifle to shoot sub-MOA groups."

Best in my rifle,
September 3, 2009
By CPSAW
from Pacific Northwest
|
"As stated before, same hole groups happen when you have found the right bullet that matches your twist, right amount of powder, free bore space is maximized, cold / warm bore differences are nil, etc..... With that being said, BHA 50gr VMAX in 223 is the only ammo (that is not handloaded) that produces these results out of my rifle. I've got a 1 in 12 twist, 22" Lilja off a Cooper 21 Phoenix. Perfection."

Blackhills Match Ammo,
May 18, 2009
By Emptybrass
from Central Florida recreational shooter
|
"Excellent product, only bad side is constantly out of stock or backorder. Being a competition shooter who chooses not to reload due to lack of time this causes problems. Stock piling customers should not be concerned with match quality as much as quanity. 1000 rds of any grain bullets is fine for stock piling for hard times. However match ammo of same brand bullets means everything at monthly shooting competitions. So please order cheap bulk for stockpiling GUYS."
