"I have taken two Elk in northern Arizona with my 300 Weatherby. The first was a 6x6 Bull at 424 yards and he fell where he stood. The second was a cow at 125 yards and it literally knocked her off her feet. Needless to say there is no tracking blood trails when using a 300 Weatherby at any range."

"I use the .300 Weatherby Magnum, Nosler Partition ammunition in my Weatherby Sporter Mark V, .300 Weatherby Magnum. The rifle shoots 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards. I topped the rifle off with a Leopold VXIII 4 x 14 x 50 LR scope. I had Leopold customize the scope to have a Ballistically Matched Reticle for the aiming points at a 200 yards zero through 500 yards, with 100 yard increments. This has been a great feature that I recommend to all big game hunters. No more guess work for trajectories. This combination of ammo/rifle/scope is great. The ammo itself is very hard hitting on deer and very accurate. I have been shooting at a range that has targets out to 500 yards with excellent results."
