double holster,October 7, 2009
By boatsandguns
"Bought this to fit my 1851 black powder pistol. soaked it in hot water for about a minute , placed pistol in plastic bag then into holster and let dry overnight. Formed to perfect fit. The leather is slightly thin but heavy enough to last a long time. Not for quick draw but great to carry to the range or hunting. Made nice and the border stamping is good. After pricing other holsters , this is a good value."

I'm picky,June 16, 2009
By Gun665from Prescott, AZ
"There were minor things about this holster that I just couldn't live with. It was stated to be for a 4 5/8 inch barrel. The holster was 2 inches longer than the barrel of my pistol, which caused a "flapping" effect, rather like wearing shoes that are too big for you.
The quality of the holster was very nice. Great leather, great stitching, but I just couldn't get past the length issue.
I would recommend it but give a warning about the length variances."

Excellent buy,January 25, 2009
By badbobDLfrom minnesota
"This is a good quality holster and remarkably authentic. Price is good too. You may want to form it to your six gun, which is no big deal. I purchased the cross draw also and it is the same. If you want to look like a real cowboy fron the late 1800s this is the one."

Good purchase,January 5, 2009
By Cybernetsurfer
"This is an excellent item to buy. However, it only gets 4 stars because the holster tends to not let go of the gun and it comes up when you try to draw. This is only a temporary thing as more use softens the leather and the gun can slip easily in and out."

Double Loop Holster,December 21, 2008
By tennrebelfrom Tennessee
"I had bought this some time ago along with a crossdraw holster and belt. Hadn't really played with it much. However since it's cold as blue blazes down here in Tennessee today, I decided I put my "guns" on and give it a try. The holster wanted to pull up in the loops when drawing my gun but it was a simple fix..Punch a small hole and tie it down on the bottom with wax thread. Didn't have a lash down loop, but there again..a simple hole punch and a bit of leather lace fixed it right up. A nice set of holsters and belt for the money."

oklahoma belt and holster,December 1, 2008
By frito1from Tennessee
"I bought the oklahoma belt and double loop holster for a cimmaron mod p stainless in 357/38 cal. After I got the right size belt, a medium will not go around a 36 in waist as I was told, I was very well pleased for the money. The holster fit the pistol very well and the belt, a large, fits very well. The holster leather is a little thin, but is of good quality, and is soft and will be easy on the pistol. All in all, I am very satisfied for the money spent. It is a very good looking rig."

Good bit of leather,July 23, 2008
By busboy999from Ft. Benning, GA
"After several weeks of research trying to find a suitable holster for a Uberti reproduction of a S&W #3 Schofield revolver with 7" barrel, I stumbled across this gem. I had been preparing to shell out close to $200 to one of the "cowboy action shooting" leatherworkers with an internet storefront. As beautiful as some of that leatherwork is, its not what I wanted. I wanted a simple brown leather holster that could hold a 7" Schofield and not break the bank. This product fits the bill. It holds a Schofield perfectly (i.e. securelt), the workmanship is excellent, and the leather quality is just fine. (Some, like me, might like to saddle soap the leather for a bit more supple feel, but again the leather quality is excellent.) Lastly...its a downright handsome piece of gunleather on top of it. You can't go wrong with this holster."

A great Cheyenna Holster for the price,May 28, 2008
By Mordecaifrom Los Angeles
"I bought several of these about four years ago in all three barrel lengths. Kept the ones for 4 3/4" and 5 1/2". The 5 1/2" inch is really long enough for a 7 1/2" barrel, leaving only 1/2" of barrel sticking out of the bottom. Similarly, the 4 3/4" model holds a 5 1/2" barrel with room to spare. The holster designed for 7 1/2" barrel lengths is way too long and looks ungainly. (Of course, it could be cut down.)
Coincidentally, these holsters, as well as they do fit Colts and Colt clones, also fit Smith and Wesson Schofield and American models nicely. (Of course, with an 8" S&W barrel, you might want to get the longest holster.)
My initial impression (with the ones from fours years back)was that the leather looked cheap and stiff, but I slathered them in leather conditioner and let them sit overnight. By morning, the color had beautifully deepened and the leather had softened and looked terrific! I could not have been more pleased.
I did the same leather treatment on the gun belt, and it turned out just as well. These have turned out to be great rigs, and I can't recommend them enough. Of all the old west styles, I think the Cheyenne model is the most beautiful, and these ones from Oklahoma Leather are a means to get a terrific rig for a low price."

Double Loop Holster,April 22, 2008
By Cakymo
"The holster looks nice. The holster serves it purpose of protecting the firearm. However the leather on this holster is very very soft, and therefore makes it dificult th reholster the gun quickly. With stiffer leather, this would be a great holster, but as it is, it is only adequate."

Great holster,April 1, 2008
By DakotaKidCurryfrom Seymour, IN
"If you are wanting to get into SASS shooting and not spend a lot of money, this is the way to go. You can pay more but why when these work fine. They just need to be fitted to your gun by oiling your gun and wrapping it in plastic wrap, soak the holster in warm water for about a minute and then put your gun in it. The outside edge can be rolled out and laid on that side to dry. In a couple of days your holster will fit like a glove. Very authentic, I believe I saw this type of holster on Sharon Stone in the Quick and the Dead."

7-1/2" vaquero holster,February 11, 2008
By VideoRodgerfrom Maryland
"I took a chance on buying this holster for my Ruger Blackhawk 7-1/2" barrel .45 SA. Unfortunately, it does not fit that gun due to the wide rear sight area of the Blackhawk. I have a .22 Heritage Rough Rider that fits perfectly, so that's what I'm using the holster for now. Since the holster is designed for the vaquero pistol, I imagine the Ruger Vaquero would also fit perfectly. A very well made (albeit stiff) holster that should give a lifetime of use. (at a reasonable price!)"
