Good Deal,May 12, 2009
By pml07from California
"Over all a good bag.The material is a little thin, although I did make a canvas liner for the inside, sewing it around the inside edge. The leather straps work better once they are worked in with a leather conditioner. If you are willing to work with it, it is a good deal."

Oklahoma Leather Carpet Bag,March 31, 2009
By Blastersonfrom Cowboy Action in Maryland
"This is a good quality bag for the money, if used properly. It would be nice if it had inside pockets and I agree that the cardboard isn't ideal (1/4 inch plywood would be an excellent fix). If you're having trouble with the buckling, try pivoting the buckle strap toward the center of the bag, then buckle it in the first hole. The pressure from the leather forces the bag closed in this configuration. It doesn't seem right, but works well! Perhaps it was designed to work this way, Good Luck All!"

Looks great but,February 10, 2009
By MacBrighid2from Texas
"When I think of the day’s gone bye, I think of quality, pride in workmanship, and functionality.
The carpet is light weight The base is cardboard The opening is aluminum. The belt closers leave about an inch open at the top. It is assembled with rivets that secure it catch on items put in the bag."

"Carpet Bag",December 11, 2007
By hapycheffrom Summit Hill, Pa
"I recently bought this item. It has several major flaws (anyway I think so). Here are a few: The Bag "DOES NOT" close "completely." About 1/4 or 1/2 inch opening when closed correctly. While the Bag does look nice, it won't really severe as a Bag for too many uses. Intented to use it, only as an "overnight" bag occasionally for infrequent trips to the hospital (live-in companion has cancer) but "changed" my mind. I need something that will "close" and be more reliable. But as I wrote, looks great and will be great, if hardly used. Just be careful when purchasing this and think of how it will be used. Also, no reliable way to correct it and make the Bag stay closed. I have checked into several possible ways, too."

OKLAHOMA CARPET BAG,October 22, 2007
By sre3from QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR,TEXAS
"WHEN I GOT THE BAG EVERYTHING LOOKED FINE...HOWEVER..AFTER A LITTLE USE THE SEAMS HAVE BEGUN TO COME APART...THIS IS NOT A "CARPET" BAG..IT IS A MANMADE FABRIC WITH A "CARPET BAG" DESIGN AND IT DOES NOT LEND ITSELF TO HOLDING IT'S SEAMS...ALSO...THE LEATHER STRAPS DO NOT HOLD THE BAG CLOSED VERY SNUG...THE BELT HOLES DO NOT ALLOW IT TO..FOR THE MONEY IT WAS OK...AS A REAL ONE IS $150.00 OR MORE.........NOW I KNOW WHY."

Carpet Bag,August 7, 2007
By Dcapfrom Santa Fe, New Mexico
"A very nice bag at a very reasonable price. I plan to use it for cowboy action shooting gear, but found it to also be a very practical airline carry-on bag. It fits well under the seat and can carry a lot of stuff!"

Carpet Bag By Oklahoma Leather,July 16, 2007
By OklahomaTomfrom Kaufman, TX
"The bag looks very authentic. It really only has two problems, both of which I will fix. Instead of the cardboard bottom, it should have a 1/4" of plywood, preferably treated to be water proof. Also, the buckles just don't hold it shut. They are positioned to high and have too few holes to buckle shut all the way. But, the style and material is great, it just needs a little fixing up."

It's in the bag,November 21, 2006
By soleprop
"I find the bag quite handy for toting my Cowboy Action Shooting accessories. It blends in well with the period look -- and gets its share of second looks from other shooters. I'm glad it's part of my gear."
