finally,October 18, 2009
By grizzlyjacfrom Castle Dale Utah
"I finally got my dream gun. Just shot it this week end and loved every minute of it. Cut my scalp looking too close to the vernier. Oh well, just laughed and shot it more. Does not kick at all but it does push and one needs to be ready for that. Need to get my sites lined up and then shoot for the 1000 yds. Love the gun. Can't believe how heavy it is but it is great. This is a gun that no one will shoot but myself."

Big dog 45-120 Sharps,December 17, 2007
By Brian47
"I shoot the Big Dog. 45-120, Pushing 535 bullets with a full case. First time I shot it I was holding it loose. I ended up with an inch and a half cut on my bottom lip, been in love ever since. That did happen, but seriousely.... it is a beautiful rifle that shoots great. My next trip to Alaska for moose and bear, I'll let you know how it performs."

Quigley Sharps 45-110,July 23, 2007
By Fungunner
"Yes I bought the Sharps 45-110 and yes ammo is pricey but really like the rifle. Due to the weight, recoil is really not bad. When you fire the rifle it does not hit a hard recoil but does push you pretty good. I shot 40 rounds one day and my shoulder was pretty spent (hurt) but gun was not really designed for repeated shots like that. Is is made I believe for a (1) good single shot on game, thats all it take depending on the shooter of course. I have been trying different ranges of target, 100, 500, 700 and even 1000 yards. Made 4 or 5 hits at the 1000 yard mark, did not get in the 12" target but at least hit the 2X2 board the target was on. 1000 yards is a long ways, I could bearly see it Anyway, Im very pleased with the gun and it is a crowd pleaser at the range. Only problem I have had is it would not exact some of the spent shells and was a easy fix. Im going to rate a 5 star anyway........It's a fun gun. Grizzley hunting with it is next, back-up will be my .460 side arm. Have fun shooting and hunting, just remember to be safe:-)"

Quigley,March 11, 2007
By Cozzfrom Colorado Springs, Co
"This rifle is wonderful.
I got the .45-70 version primarily because ammo is easier to find. I initially wanted the .45-120.
I put on the vernier rear sight and the hooded front sight with inserts. (The level on the front sight broke almost immediately, but you don't need it anyway.) With the peep venier sight and a cross hair front sight insert it is almost like shooting with a scope. I've target shot from 50 to 350 yards with amazing accuracy (3" group at 350 yards. Good enough for hunting.). When you pull the trigger on this gun it's like nothing happens. The recoil is minimal. The gun is heavy, but you know that when you buy it.
I have recommended this gun to a friend and he took his deer hunting last fall and bagged a doe at about 100 yards and didn't even have time to verify the sights from the shelf. He has the standard sights."

Quigley,December 3, 2006
By Downunderfrom California
"Awsome! The rifle is perfection and worth every bit of the price. Very well made gun with good wood and accuracy is without question a done deal if you can hold up the weight or rest it on sticks or bags. One caviet though, if you want to use it in NRA sanctioned competition you will have to take off a pound of weight from somewhere and I am not going to cut off two inches of the barrel to do that. It is just plane fun to shoot and draws a crowd. Sure is perty, just go for it. :-)"

Quigley 45-70 Sharps Rifle,November 5, 2006
By DogTrainerfrom Easternshore, MD.
"I have been shooting my Sharps for about for about 6 months now and it performs great. the accuracy has been outstanding using 405 gr. shells at 100 yds. Very easy to shoot with low recoil due to the weight of the gun."
