"I purchased this sight for my standard model DP 1874 Sharps. It makes a nice addition to this rifle at a reasonable price. I would recommend this sight."

Really long range!,September 25, 2007
By BitBucket
"This sight is very high quality. Parts are well machined and it is very rugged. Etched numbers and hash marks are clear and easy to read. Vertical bars are beefy, as is the base and windage adjustment. Windage and elevation adjustments are precise and easy to understand. It mounts quickly and comes with clear instructions. The sight can be reversed on its base, although this increases minimum range.
Note: It is EXACTLY what is says it is--Long Range! At lowest possible elevation of the sight you're looking at hitting about 1-1.5 ft high at 200 yards on an 1874 Sharps 45-70 Long Range (34" barrel model). I would not recommend buying the Long Range sight if you plan on shooting inside 300 yards. Consider one of the shorter-range soule sights for that.
I would buy this sight or its little brothers again if they met my range needs."

DP Soule sights,November 28, 2006
By srf5290from Florida
"I purchased the sight for use with my DP "Billy Dixon" Sharps rifle in .45-70. The sight installed quickly and easily with a flat blade screwdriver, using the included screw sets. The vernier type sight that was included with the rifle was crude but functional. By comparison, the new sight was obviously a Ferrari where the vernier is a Yugo.
The markings on the Soule are clear and easy to read. The adjustments are smooth and lock solidly into place. The aperture is very sharp and provides an excellent picture in conjunction with the DP Aperture front sight. The sight is adjustable in just about every way concievable and repeatability is phenomenal.
I've used this sight to fire at targets in excess of 600 yds using black powder and equivalent smokeless loads without even coming close to the maximum adjustment.
If you like hitting targets out to ranges that you wouldn't think possible without scopes, try this sight. Seeing a perfect .45 calibre hole on a 200 yd target is nice, but knowing that there were four other shots through that same hole makes it all that much better."
