"I purchased this scope for a .22 rifle (a Kimber) The VX-1 is parallax set for 150 yards. I knew this when I bought it. I sent it to Leupold and had the parallax reset to 40 yards. The service was fast and inexpensive. This is my second Leupold and it's worth every dollar. Aside from thier high quality and the clarity of the optics, they hold thier value better than other makes. The scope is made here in the US and if you call thier 1-800 help line, you will actually speak with a real human being, not some automated system. Thier products is money well spent."

"OK HERE IS THERE REAL DEAL ON THIS SCOPE. I HAVE A 4X12 VX1 MOUNTED ON A REM 700 30-06. THE SCOPE IS ACCURATE, BUT THE LIGHT GATHERING IS NOT AS GOOD AS NIKON BUCKMASTERS OR ALOT OF OTHER SCOPES IN THIS PRICE RANGE. I HAVE SWAROVSKIS 15, AND 10 BINOS. WHEN I LOOK THRU THIS SCOPE I AM AMAZED AT JUST HOW POOR THE OPTICAL QUALITY IS. IS THE SCOPE ACCURATE IN OPTIMAL CONDITIONS YES, BUT HUNTING IS IN LOW LIGHT SITUATIONS AND THIS SCOPE IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY. GET A VX3 OR ABOVE IF YOU WANT TO GO WITH LEUPOLD, NOT A SLAM BECAUSE I STILL OWN 1, ITS JUST THE TRUTH IF ANYONE ELSE SAYS DIFFERENT JUST GO TO CABELAS AND LOOK THROUGHT THE SCOPES."

"This the first experience I've had with a Cabela's order that didn't meet or exceed my expectations. Twenty-three years ago I bought a used Weatherby Vanguard VGS that had a rather inexpensive 3-9X40 on it. Friends would always promote their favorite brand of optics to me and were usually quieted when they shouldered the piece. The old scope finally failed, losing the ability to be adjusted properly this past season. Hoping to upgrade the trusty deerslayer with a "better brand" of optics, I ordered the Leupold VX-I scope. When I received the scope, I was eager to see the touted brighter, sharper sight picture. The tube wasn't even a close second to the bargain basement brand that I had dragged through the jungles of costal SC for the past 20 plus years. This was confirmed by other eyes..... a real dissapointment from an American company."
