"I bought this jacket in 2004 and took it everywhere, cold days in North Carolina and snow days in Dillon,CO. It was perfect. Recently it was involved in a house fire and did not survive. I just ordered another one and the Chestnut on this one is not the same as the other..it seems darker, more green. But the overall goodness of the jacket is still there. I am 6'1 and 240 pounds and the 2XL REG fits perfectly so that I can wear layers under it. If you're much taller you'll need the LONG version. My chest size is 48 and the jacket is not tight at all, and my waist is a loose 40 and the jacket fits fine there too. My sleeve is 34/35 and again, its a perfect fit so that when I stretch my arms the sleeve does not ride up. Hope this review helps you who have size concerns."

"Love this jacket. I'm 5'8 180lbs ,I got the large. Its a little big but still looks good. The way its cut it gives you lots of room to get a heavy sweater under it with out feeling bulky when its realy cold. The sleaves are cut a little over size so when you reach forward they don't pull up on your arm. I got the green with the brown collar and a'm happy with it. Great jacket!"

"The shell was described as canvas or heavy cotton twill- suggesting to me a heft or structured feel. Instead the material is light, thin- a microfibre feel. For a military styled, alpha male leaning garment, I don't like silky/microfibre-like wimpy stuff. Just not my personal taste. Return, however was painless and quick. Switched out for different threads."

"Quite warm, more so than I expected. Good styling, one tiny unsecured stitch near one shoulder. Plenty of room to move throughout the shoulders, even too much as the shoulder/armpit area in back are kind of "blousey". I like the jacket but it hasn't moved ahead of my Cabela's Field Coat!"

"Terrific coat - comfortable right out of the box. I've already received several compliments on it. For me it is sized just right with enough room to layer a hoodie or heavy sweater. Even here in Colorado (at elevation) it has become my everyday coat. The only thing I would change is give it a heavier zipper."
