"Looks good so far--just hope the weld holds up under the strain of the downrigger and weight. Fits well and all the holes line up perfectly. Expensive for two pieces of metal welded together and a few bolt holes tapped into it. Bought it because my pole holder had a 25 degree angle to it and couldn't find any others to fit that angle. Would give it five stars if it were half the price. Would recommend to a friend to get a pole holder with a 30 degree mount so that they had cheaper options for a gimbal mount."

"I use these to mount my downriggers off the stern gunwale rodholders. They're very strong and mount the downrigger bases fine. The only flaw is that they are a bit tight fitting onto the pin at the bottom of the rodholders. Otherwise fine."

"This rod holder gimbal for my downrigger works great. Avoided drilling holes to hard mount the downrigger base. It allows me to remove the downrigger when not needed. The downrigger bolted right on with no problems just as advertised. I am very happy with this gimbal mount for fishing in the Gulf and Stripped fishing in the TN river."

"The gimbal works perfectly. My Cannon down rigger bolted up in little time. The factory mounting bolts will need to be trimmed to prevent coming in contact with your boat. Excellent alternative to drilling holes in the back of your boat."

"With the universal gimbals it take about a minute to install two downriggers. With the Cannon swivel base it's one compact unit. If you are not using your downriggers then you have two good rod holders."
