"Worked excellent! I know it's just a cable, so not much to go wrong, but you'd be surprised!
I'm new to GPS's so this could be the norm, but I like the way the cable completely cut out the battery, and then when you unplugged the cable, the GPS would warn me to either turn it back on, or it was going to shut off. In other words, it didn't automatically assume that I wanted to continue running on batteries. I like that I get to choose. I also liked that the GPS backlight stayed on while plugged in."

"It's almost a must if you don't want to run out all of the batteries on a long road trip. Even though the Vista HCx has somewhere around 25 hours, I believe, if you use the GPS while driving and then want to go out in the woods for a day or two it's nice to still have all of your batteries left when you leave the truck. For the price, it's worth the batteries you'd go through using it for road directions on trips. Just get it up front, you won't regret it."

"This is a must have as you can leave it on all the time and use it as an auto gps. Otherwise, its only a matter of time before the screen blanks out or your batteries go dead"
