Very dangerous Lure!,August 10, 2009
By pashlakefrom Yorkville, IL
"I had an opportunity to use the Mepps Syclops lure for the first time in Ontario. This is a very dangerous lure--for the fish! I caught many northern pike with it that I would consider average, but my greatest thrill was a 42 inch 12 pounder. A great lure to use. I even got a couple of nice walleyes trolling with it."

syclops power,June 25, 2009
By pikerfisherfrom lewisburg, PA
"the last syclops i bought from here ended up being a dud on the lake, but the syclops i bought in the local baitstore crushed up on some nice pike, i've always liked the syclops and i was disappointed in the Gold syclops, silver syclops and orange and yellow, They all produced a good number of pike on my last vacation to the lake. i would caution people not the purchase the syclops lite if they troll alot with people using diffrent lures, as the lite has a tendency of riding on the top of the water, but the regular syclops number 3 trolls great, and cast even better. I rarely have to worry about hooks snagging on the line, and no matter the speed you retrieve the syclop's action can really produce strikes. When i bought a syclops at the local bait store the owner said the syclops makes the pike go into a state of insanity, and he wasn't far off."

Syclops best buy,March 25, 2009
By travelinfishermanfrom Ft Worth, Tx
"I was introduced to this lure 20 years ago in the North West fishing for brookies. I am from the south and have fished it all over the country north to south east to west and have had success with it every where. It is my go to when nothing else works. Fish size, water color and speed of fishing determine the size and color I use and have had good fortune with all sizes and colors; be it lakes, rivers or ponds; trout, bass of all breeds, pike and pickerel and even a few channel cats. Works well on spawning crappie. I have proclaimed to family and friends this is my # 1 bait time and again. I just wish it were easier to find when i get low."

Mepps Syclops Spoon,February 17, 2009
By DaveNEValentinefrom Nebraska
"After several trips to fish for northren pike we have found the gold Syclops to be one of the most reliable pike lures when the fishing is slow. The only issue we have seen with the lures is often the paint comes off the other colors, but for the price they can't be beat for toothy critters."

New favorite spoon,January 21, 2009
By Dizzydog214from Michigan
"I have been a traditional Eppinger spoon fisherman my whole life with good results. Last fall I tried the syclops and was nailing pike when nobody else was getting a strike. It didn't matter what color I used; it must have been the action. They worked well at night or during the day. I still love the dardevles but the syclops is now my favorite. I recommend using the one ouncers for pike."

The best of all for northern!,August 25, 2008
By NorthernpikeBob
"Our group of 6 just returned from a few days on Lac Seul in western Ontario. We fished hard, with many lures. We had over 20 Syclops lures with us, as they had killed 'em on a previous trip. We did fish with a wide array of spinners, crankbaits and spoons, but the Syclops was WAY ahead in productivity. The silver Syclops with a Twister tail (which helps keep it above the weeds) just mauled the northern - with many fish in the 32 to 38" range. I must mention that we had constant sunshine, and the Syclops reflected sunlight like a lighthouse beacon. I have no idea how it would do in heavy overcast.....our last two trips have had 100% sunshine."

Nails 'em!,August 18, 2008
By HelloScottfrom Brownsburg, Indiana
"I've used this spoon for everything from Bluegill to Smallmouth to Pike. They all love them. Size the spoon for the fish and you will be happy! The neon Yellow seems to be my best bet. MEPPS seems to be s "northern thing" for many fishermen. Trust me, they work in the southern lakes too!"

Amazing LURE!!!!,March 31, 2008
By fisherofmen12345from Watertown NY
"I bought a 1 of each of these in the 1/8 size (except for the blue color) for trout. I would go fishing and use all of them every time. I would rotate them through out the day and catch one every 20 to 30 casts. In one day i would catch up to 20 very large trout. The orange seems to work the best, it looks exactly like a wouned bait fish, it also attracts them to bite it because of the orange plastic on the treble hook. I highly recomend this to any level of fisherman it casts like a bullet and it catches fish, thats all i want out of it."

Productive and casts like a bullet,August 5, 2007
By MarineScientistfrom PA/NJ/NY/ME/FL
"This spoon has been a mainstay of both my freshwater and saltwater tackle boxes since I was a boy. It makes a great change from fishing topwater lures or crankbaits all the time, requiring a bit more skill (in my opinion) to fish competently because it must be counted down and worked through the fish zone. I have caught practically every species of freshwater gamefish in the U.S. on Syclops of different sizes (most in the silver finish, with the treble replaced by a single hook dressed with white marabou), and many more species in the salt (including some truly large barracuda). These lures can take a beating and perform no differently. Additionally, unless you happen to be fishing in dangerously high winds, Syclops are easily and accurately cast at a relatively flat trajectory, enabling you to cover water faster and with greater precision and distance; even casting directly in to the wind gets good results. I don't fish these lures in lieu of other lures, per se, however they certainly perform a task that few other lures (if any) can do with as much success."
