"The hooks are offset so the point is turned from the shaft & eye so I could not use them for fly tying without bending them and that is too much hassle otherwise I like the wide gap for hooking. Some of the hook eyes were not closed so I had to bend them shut."

"These are my favorite hooks for most freshwater bait fishing. I use sizes 12 and 10 for steelhead eggsac fishing, 10 and 8 for perch ( minnow ) fishing, and 8 and 6 for carp and small catfish with bait. The hooks run large by size though; a size 6 L42 equals a size 2 in others. They're really sharp, have a great shape, and are inexpensive."

"For some reason these hooks work GREAT. I've used all kinds of hooks over the years and these hook up best. Nice and sharp right out of the package. Wide gap allows for bigger bait while still leaving plenty of hook to do it's job. The shape of the hook almost works like a circle hook and I rarely lose a fish . I do a lot of ocean, back bay, and big river fishing - you lose rigs. but these are priced to minimize that expense.
The only downside is they rust quickly. Not really a big deal since if you lose it in a fish or snag it will not be a prolonged problem."
