Gama jig hooks,September 25, 2007
By Finessefrom Kentucky
"For years in my area in KY different ones have pour jigheads with flimsey or cheap hooks. A friend had a mold modified but I still did not like the hook he was using. I ordered a package of Gamakatsu and had him to use my hooks. I fish soft plastics with these jigheads and gama hooks with total confidence. You've heard the comerical on TV "I don't go fishing without Trilene", well I won't go without the jigheads."

The best jig hook I ever used,January 22, 2007
By fishbowl72from Jefferson City, MO
"A couple of years ago I lived in MT and went every other weekend to Orofino, Idaho during steelhead season. The jigs I bought there either weren't very sharp or the wire was just too weak and would bend out (not to mention barbless hooks were manditory). I bought a pack of Gamakatsu hooks to use in my bass jig molds (I figure it was cheaper than buying the molds for larger gage hooks and I wouldn't have to modify a $30 mold.) I went from losing fish to limiting every trip. The point is sharp enough to penetrate the steelheads jaw and the wire strong enough to hold the 14-18 pound fish, even after pinching the barbs flat. These are the hooks to use every time on the water."

Gamakatsu 90 Jig Hooks, Item:IG-113356,November 25, 2006
By BigCityfrom Yakima, (Central) Washington
"I found this item, Gamakatsu 90 Jig Hooks, Item:IG-113356, to be an excellent choice through Cabelas. While these jig hooks are designed for molding lead heads around the hook bend, I follow another way to make jigs with these hooks. I take a weight, 1/8 to 1/2 oz, put a straight pin through it and tie it along the hook shank similar as to building a fly leaving the weight in front of the bend. I use a lot of extra wraps along with plenty of head cement, and paint the new jig head to finish it. If you dare experiment with this method I hope you find it as exciting as I do to hook into a steelhead on your own creations. Another recommended product, BC"

Gamakatsu 90? Jig Hooks,November 20, 2006
By Alfrontierfrom Diamondville,Wy
"I recommend these hooks to mold your lead head jigs. They are very sharp and of great quality. I have never had a problem with any of the hooks and have used them in several different style molds. They seem to stay sharp and the fish seem to hook themselves."
