Good Bucktails,August 21, 2009
By DMY01from Nescopeck, PA
"I ordered Cabela'sHand Tied Bucktail Jigs for my annual trip to Quebec Walleye fishing. My nephew and I were fishing from my boat and got into a nice school of Walleye. He was using his own hand tied jigs that we used last year in yellow and chartruse while I used Cabela's jigs in Green and chartruse. In the hour these walleyes were feeding I caught 7 more than Brad with one being 91/2 pound. I credit the Cabela's jigs for the difference. Thank you Cabela's."

"I use to tie my own but don't find the time anymore. These are very good except the fact the paint chips off easily. Other than that very well tied......"

Spro Prime bucktails andCabelas hand tiedbucktails,April 21, 2009
By Flukehawkfrom Pa. resident N.J. fisherman
"I have used the Spro bucktails very successfully for Fluke in New Jersey. I use them with a rig that incorporates them with Cabelas 3/8oz Hand tied jigs, in both bucktail and maribou. I put the Spro on the bottom of a 36" fluorocarbon 20# test leader. Then about 12 inches above that I tie a dropper loop, with the Cabelas 3/8 oz maribou or bucktail. I would say that 75% of the hits come on the 3/8oz teaser. I fish primarily for big Fluke in the rocks of northern New Jersey and the jigs are deadly, and hold up quite well. I have caught a multitude of Fluke between 7 and 11 lbs on this rig. No brag-just fact.
Flukehawk."

use for smaller fish,January 30, 2009
By fishmasterflexfrom jersey, jersey
"beautiful bucktail. Too bad it was ruined with a weak hook. I used for summer flounder, and hook snapped off consistently when hooked up with any fluke above 16 inches. If you buy these make sure you don't use for bigger fish or saltwater."

Bucktail jigs,January 12, 2009
By Lundyrigfrom Michigan
"I have used these jigs for the last six or eight years. I like the 1/4 and larger sizes. The 1/8 oz size, which I prefer for pitchin jigs for walleyes simply has too small of a hook when tipped with anything other than a small minnow. I have since started tying my own bucktail jigs using Cabela's 1/8 oz tube jigs, which come with a 3/0 hook. I don't think I get any more hits with these jigs, but I sure do get a lot more hookups with the bigger hook. I believe the hook gap needs to be wider than the bait or most of the time when you get hit you are jerking the jig right out of the fishes mouth."

Steelhead Trout magnate,April 22, 2008
By SirGeorgefrom Ohio
"I've fished steelhead trout before with not much consistent success. With this jig, I used a simple maggot on the hook and caught trout after trout. I was skeptical when I looked at it in the catalog, but it works. I didn't have the line if for more than 5 minutes before landing my first steelhead trout."

Cabela's Bucktail Jigs,May 8, 2007
By walleye15from Kane, Pennsylvania
"A great jig in itself but the color options make this bait even better. Tipped with live bait, this lure has already proven successful for me in a recent tournament."
