"Well made-strong-protects the rods and reels well. I thought the case was a little heavy and the plastic case was very slick"

working out just fine on planes, August 9, 2009
By weeman

"Well, I now have 25000+ air miles on mine now and dozens of internal airline transfers. Sure, the case has nicks and deep gouges in it now but that's from airline baggage handling. My rods have never been damaged in any way. One thing i wish it did have is some sort of retaining system to hold each rods in its respective slot. some sort of hard, swinging latch across each slot would be good. i will likely experiment with adding latches before long (now i use either tape or elastics which works fine), and i'll also try adding wheels at one end."

not good, June 30, 2009
By Fishermanruss from Sacramento, Ca

"The case is extremly large, its difficult to carry. The tackle boxes dont stay closed so when you open the case all your tackle is everywhere. The latches on the outside broke. I had to return it not satisfied."

Fabril Pack a Pole, June 17, 2009
By pfoster1988 from Armuchee, GA

"We bought this case to take our equipment in our camper's garage without worrying about breaking something during travel.

We needed something to hold at least two rods for each of us. It had to be a hard case and long enough for 7' one piece rods with reels attached. This fits the bill perfectly.

The only thing missing from it was a way to hold the rods and reels on each side for travel. We fixed it by putting eye hooks into the case and securing the rod/reel combos on each side with a bungee strap. Perfection!

Pack case, June 16, 2009
By Esker from Ithaca, NY

"I purchased this as a gift for a friend who is an avid angler. Usually he carries his poles in a Tule but there are times he doesn't want that on top of his vehicle and this seemed a perfect way to protect the poles inside the truck and not have to worry snapping them - he loves it. I can see where it might be nice just to have the whole thing lined with egg crate foam so you wouldn't be limited as to where things went but it certainly works as advertised and is very sturdy and a good addition to his fishing arsenal."

Frabill Rod Case, March 17, 2009
By rdailey from Longmont, Colorado

"Pretty nice product. It arrived initially in good condition with no issues.
We did take an extended airline trip with several stops and the rod case held up well.
Adding some rod tie downs inside would be helpful. The tackle compartments are a decent idea but I travel with salt water spinning gear and the line guides tend to be large and its a little difficult to fit them around and inside the compartment sections.

All in all it worked out well on the trip. The size flexibility is nice. If you travel with salt water gear this is a nice solution.

Graybeard2, February 9, 2009
By Graybeard2 from Live in Southern CA, but fish elsewhere.

"The first case arrived with a broken hinge. Easy to exchange with Cabela's. But, then the second case came with a bent hinge pin. This time the hinge was not broken, but was under stress each time I opened and closed the case. I was able to remove and straighten the pin, so no permanent damage. Not sure if shipping or manufacturing problem. Case is a bit heavier than I expected, but is very sturdy and should protect rods/reels during most any type of transportation, including the airlines. Probably a bit more than needed for short day trips, so my recommendations for the product would depend on how you plan to use it. Should be real good for longer trips and especially if using commercial transportation."

Rod and Reel Protective Case, February 3, 2009
By killler from fishing guide, central Wisconsin

"I needed a protective case for my 5 foot "noodle rods" and reels that I use for ice fishing. This fit my bill as I haul them with my portable shanty along with other equipment (heater, jigging poles, minnows, drill, etc.) with my snowmobile. I did not like how they fit into this case and I cut out all the little plastic tackle boxes and plastic in the middle of this case and glued in egg crate foam into the entire interior of this case, thus customizing it so I could place my 4 rods and reels into it easier. It looks good, has more protection with my added foam, and the rods can be placed anywhere rather than into the original plastic notches and around the built in tackle boxes. After this customization the Frabill rod and reel case is awesome. It did take quite a bit of effort, however, to cut out all the interior plastic."

"I really liked the quality construction and the adjustability of the product. I had recently broken the tip off of one of favorite rods so that is when I decided to purchase this product. Now I have 4 rods and reals protected at all times. I also can carry enough tackle inside the case for fishing."

Sturdy case, March 14, 2008
By 811cop from Salem, Oregon

"This is a very sturdy case. A little heavy, but I knew that when I bought it. It extends to easily carry my 2 piece 10 ft. surf rods. With my large spinning reels it only holds 2 rod and reel combo's. The more you extend it, the more room inside for extra tackle. I don't even pack a tackle box now at the airport. The holes for locking it work perfect for attaching a shoulder strap so It's easy to carry through the airport."

Frabill Pack-A-Pole, March 10, 2008
By KSparks from On vacation I fish in Florida

"The unit is nice. What would make it better? Maybe, a bit of velcro to hold the foam in place would be nice. A couple of loops for tie-wraps would make it easier to tie down reels in the "center" area.
All in all, a good product for a good price.
