7ft MH Spinning/ Popping,October 6, 2008
By tlomfrom CT
"I purchased the 7' Med/Heavy GL2 at the beginning of the summer, and paired with a shimano sustain 5000. This is by far one of the best inshore fishing rods i've ever used. I've landed everything from 18 lb bluefish off a jetty (even though it took 15 solid minutes to get the thing in) 35'+ Stripers, sand sharks, and a large catfish. Even though this isn't a massive saltwater rod, it has TONS of power. Casts a mile and has the extreme sensitivity of all loomis rods. I've recently purchased an 8ft g.Loomis PRO BLUE which is absolutely amazing. It's around $100 more than the GL2 but worth every penny, as are all G.Loomis products."

Fish Magnet.,June 3, 2008
By Doudyfrom The Gambia.
"What can I say! Fishing in the Gambia River with a Loomis rod. WOW!!! You do not know what you are going to catch next: Baracuda, Red Snapper, Grouper or Tarpon. One thing I know I came prepared. 9.15 a.m an 8lbs red snapper with ease and finesse thanks to loomis. 9.33a.m. a nice 6lbs grouper and so it went all day. I am so impressed that I will be ordering another loomis. One is simply not enough. Thanks for a great well balanced rod.
Doudy."

A good rod,March 2, 2008
By SpinnerMaltesefrom Malta, Europe
"I've purchased the GL 2 9' and it is light as a feature and strongly built for its type of action. I'm curently using it in Saltwater and it does really well. The guides are adapted well for saltwater too. Despite the light action this rod has a reserve of extra power to handle bigger fish. I've matched it with a stradic 3000 FI and they are a perfect match."

travel rod,September 24, 2007
By Belizecrazyfrom Florida
"I purchased this rod with intent of procuring a suitable 7'6" spinning rod I could travel with. Loomis seems to be the only company that that has a rod in this length in 2pc. I'm going to Belize for a second time and regret that I can't take my 7'6" one pc rods because the accompaning rod case is just too unwieldy for airports ,ground transport, and the smaller aircraft attendant to international travel. I love the length on big water. This rod will throw a huge variety of plugs/jigs a long way. It has plenty of backbone for juvenile tarpon, jacks, barracuda, permit and snook. The only complaint is that the handle is about 3" too short. I will have to grip up the rod to handle larger fish. I don't think Loomis intended this rod for the purpose I'm adapting it to. Instead of making travel rods in tiny 3 and 4 pc models rod companies should start making 7'6" to 8' saltwater rods in 2 pc. A 4' rod case is no problem on almost any aircraft!"

The Sweetest Rod on the Market!!,May 12, 2007
By BeastlyAngler
"I love bass fishing. It is my favorite thing do to. My uncle has one of these and i fished with it 6 months ago. I loved it. So i bought one. i put a Pflueger Supreme on it and they are a great team. you feel the smallest hits, and its so light weight and comfortable in your hands. i chose this rod specifically for finess fishing. i use the crankbaits and spinnerbaits and other big baits on my baitcasting combo. i really like this rod, and i recommend it to the people who wont be satisfied with something just mediocre. G.Loomis rods are the best"

Bucketmouth Fishing in Arkansas,November 21, 2006
By HarrySamfrom Near Nshville, TN
"Last October three good friends took me on a fishing trip in Arkansas. You know when a "fisherperson" finds a place where bass hit almost every cast, it remains a closely guarded secret.
Last October, I had (IPS) Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. IPS is a fatal lung disease. Doctors don't know what causes it and there is no treatment.
My three friends had to help me tote my fishing gear, oxygen tank, help me into and out of the boat and basically had to help me with most everything.
We fished for three days. We caught so many bucketmouth bass, we stopped counting. This is no fish tale. In my condition, I would't dare tell anything that wasn't true. Of course, a large fish is allowed to grow a couple pounds after it's released without being a tall tale.
The one thing they didn't have to help was hooking and reeling in all them bucketmouths. My G. Loomis rod performed wonderfully. We were fishing in lakes with lilly pads and grass. A five and half foot G. Loomis rod will toss a frog onto a lilly pad exactally where you want it and as soon as you ease the frog off and the beeg bucketmouth inhales it, I could set the hook almost every time with my G. Loomis rod - more times many more than my friends with their rod and reel combs.
In fact my G. Loomis rod performed so good, I ordered another one from Cabalas.
I've had a double lung transplant. I wasn't able to go with them this past October, but sure look froward to going back to Arkansas next October using my new G. Loomis from Cabalas and my old G. Loomis rod which I've been using for at least twenty years."

G Loomis GL2 Spinning rod,November 20, 2006
By demofrom TN
"I found this rod excellent for both pan and trout fishing. The 6' GL2 offers superb casting ability without sacrificing a hook setting backbone. The lightweight and sensitive rod tip make this one of the finest rods I have ever fished with. I would highly recommend this rod for any ultra light type fishing."
