Bazooka rod tube,
August 3, 2009
By tdksp
|
"I travelled to Alaska and the rod tube came through with flying colors. It is large in diameter, but you can stuff it full. I duct taped the top latch in lieu of using a lock. I also used a zip tie instead of the pin supplied. I felt this was a better method to keep the tube extended."

Bazuka,

"I bought this product to transport eight 7' long, 1.5" diameter carbon fiber tubes we use for working with various tools underwater from the deck of a boat. It seems adequately rugged, and has done well with colleagues using it for similar applications."

3/4 of the way around the world,

"I bought this to take 4 rods to the tiny island chain of Vanuatu. 4 airports (including the dreaded LAX) one way and 5 the other and the rods are perfect. I saw the tube get thrown from an airplane to the tarmac and no damage. This will now live in my truck to use everyday. If you are traveling with your rods use this."

"this rod tube is of poor quality. my first trip out with it and it cracked under the section where you insert the rods. I taped it up and another section in the same area cracked. Looks as if this rod tube can't handle normal airline baggage travel."

Bazuka Rod Tube,
June 3, 2008
By Gatorvince
from Florida
|
"Much larger than I expected. I have packed 10 rods up to 7.5' plus some socks for padding. My only complaint would be that the locking device used to change the overall length of the rod tube is useless. I could not figure out how to lock it in place. My fear is that a flight attendant would open the clasp and colapse the rod tube breaking all of my rods. I replaced the clasp with a bolt and self-locking nut for security purposes."

Bazuka Rod Tube,

By Nae1

"Overall, I'm satisfied with the product. The latch seems like it could be somehow engineered to stay closed a little better, but if you put a TSA approved lock on it - you should be fine. It was balanced pretty well and protected my rods."

Excellent Rod Tube,
February 8, 2008
By h20dale
from Mililani, Hawaii
|
"I work for an airlines and I know the kind of punishment that traveling can do to equipment and I am quite happy with this product.
I have used my Bazuka Pro Rod Tube quite often taking my large two-piece surfcasting fishing poles and sometimes spearguns between the islands here in Hawaii as well as to the mainland USA. Thus, far my fishing poles and spearguns have arrive safely at each fishing destination that I have been too. This is a very durable product!"

Disappointed,
November 12, 2007
By kabbott
from Centreville. MD

"My Bazukaa rod tube arrived broken. I took it out of the box and the latch (lock) broke off. I tried to put it back on, but there wasn't a hole on one side to attach it. I guess if it wasn't broken it would have been ok, except for the fact that it was huge."

Flambeau Bazuka Pro Rod carrier,
July 2, 2007
By RandyB1
from Courtland, CA
|
"Awesome!!!!! I put 6 rods and could have put another 6 more into it. I even had cabelas rod covers on them. There was no extra charge at the airport and they arrived safe as can be. This carrier is higly reccommended when traveling via airplane, Make sure you put a Zip tie on the latch, it could get jarred open, but there were no problems. Thanks!"

Not as tough as it looks,
June 24, 2007
By aksarben
|
"I bought the bazooka case for plane travel. Two days after purchase, the latched top fell of at the hinges, enabling all of my rods to fall out. Thankfully the tube wasnt on an airplane at the time. If you have expensive rods, it might be well worth your money to buy something a little tougher."
