"The screw is stripped out of the weight index so it slips and then snags my other lines when it changes position in the spread. If it's not that the rings come loose. When I phoned Luhr Jensen they were no help. They told me to buy more rings.and that since Normark now owns the company, that they don't have the production here in USA anyway? I'm switching brands"

"we have used them to catch a lot of fish, but I think Jensen should take a look at their competitions features and bring these dipsy's into the 21st century. The way the weight system is designed the weight slips position and causes the diver to change position in the spread so we get tangled a lot with other divers."

"they should supply the glue that's required to keep the rings from falling off and ruining my spread.
and why don't they use indexed adjustments that can be done by hand instead of requiring a scredriver?? after about half a dozen adjustments the screw is loose in the plastic and the diver is useless. these things have been around unchanged for 30 years, isn't it time for a redesign?"

"These haven't had a good design change in 25 years. The diving rings fall off and cause tangles. The weight dajsutment wears out after only a few chnages as the screw needs a screwdriver and its just into plastic."

"I complained to Luhr Jensen about the outside rings falling off and they told me to buy more rings. The weight adjustement system on the bottom gets stripped out real quick and the diver is useless after that. I bought the new Walker Deeper Divers from cabelas to try and they have solved all these problems completely... I'll be buying Walker Deeper Divers in the future."

"I've used these in lake Ontario and on smaller lakes in canada. the small version dives approx. 20 feet and is very effective for both lake trout and king salmon. very durable and fills that 20 foot depth very well. I like the chartreuse color the best."

"I recently purchased one of these with the snubber. I fish for Stripers in the L.I. Sound and have grown tired of the old faithful wire-line trolling that is common place around these parts. The Dipsy Diver is great for getting down deep and still allowing you to fight the fish without having to reel in hundreds of feet of steel wire... all which must be done while the boat is still in gear. The Dipsy Diver allows you to stop and actually play the fish! The only drawback is that if you don't get the tension just right or you touch bottom the system will most likely release and subsequently must be reeled in an reset. I have only used it on one outing and I am sure that over time I will be able to fish it without error from experience. P.S. first time out fished for all of 15 minutes I caught two Bass, while the wire rig closed that day at nada."

"These diving planers work great. Use at least a MH action rod. I would also recommend 20 lb. braid as a minimum for towing. You can use lighter line on your setback to your lure however. I fish Lake Mead primarily for stripers. These divers are more than capable of putting you in the optimum strike zone (40-60 feet). Also, the depth charts provided are a guideline, so you will need to confirm the actual running depth with any given line weight and boat speed. Another great tool to add to any "Bass Assassin's" arsenal!"
