"Been using these since I was a child, for pike, small/large mouth bass and freshwater bowfin. Started using them for steelhead (1/4 ounce mepp) fishing this year. I use them in shallow water, quick current, clear water. I watch for the steelhead trails as they are coming up river and begin casting -- I found about 1 out of 12 trails will follow the Mepp after multiple casts (Can get 3-5 in before the angle gets bad-- best when Mepp is swept towards the mouth of the Steelhead). Probably can get a strike out of another 1 in 12. Natural color Marabou hair, white and the white that's bled to pink have been my best colors in the clear water."
