The Standard by which all else is compared,November 4, 2009
By Lon1from Little Rock, AR
"I've been using this spinner since I was a 5 year old on the rivers and creeks of Germany now in the White River of northern Arkansas at age 60. Not only is this lure extremely productive but it is a dream to use. I've caught more trout on this spinner bait than carter has little liver pills!"

Mepps spinners,August 20, 2009
By Ludaruefrom Grand Forks, ND
"Bought a couple of these lures at the beginning of the season for Turtle River fishing. I asked someone at the store what the best color to use was and he said he has had huge success with the pink and white ones. I took his word for it and man was I glad I did. On the first two casts in the river I landed a couple decent sized rainbows. The next day I went back to the same spot and on the first cast I landed a northern pike. This lure continues to impress me each and everytime I go out. I quickly found out that if there is fish in a spot I'm aiming for they'll go to any length to grab it. Amazing lure!"

"This lure works anywhere, on anything that swims. It's not always the best bait for the day, but tie on a mepps until you figure out what is - at least you'll catch some fish!"

Super Spinner,July 20, 2009
By Lippy65from Waynesburg, PA
"I recently went on a trip to Canada fishing. I had purchased the red/white Mepps Plain Aglia Spinner in a size 4 for the trip. While on the trip I caught numerous pike, smallmouth, and perch, including a 19 and 1/4 inch smallmouth. This lure produced more fish than all the other lures that I had used combined. This is an excellent addition to your tacklebox."

Big Canadian Pike,June 23, 2009
By Taxmantomfrom Live in Tucson, AZ - Fish near The Pas, MB, Canada
"I go to Northern Manitoba twice a year and the Silver #5 Plain is the "Old Faithful" of all lures. I got back on June 21, 2009 from my latest trip and caught and released a 48" and a 43" Northern Pike on this lure. I always carry at least a dozen in my box. The only shortfall, and this is minor, is that you need to make sure the shaft of the lure has not been bent by the strikes of the fish. It is easy to straighten. I have caught as many as 45 pike in one day on the same lure, and it is still in my tackle box. I have taken 19 fishing trips to Canada since 1998 and have caught 18 pike over 41" with this lure. It is the best ever."

Good enough to be included in a survival kit.,December 8, 2008

"These spinners have never failed to catch a fish. My favourite is the No. 4 in silver. The wire does tend to bend more easily than the ones from Blue Fox."

#5 Hot Orange Mepps Aglia,September 23, 2008
By dedmantalking
"If you frequent heavily stained and/or silt laden waters, this color is a killer. We (4 of us) take biannual trips to a large lake where we fish in these kinds of waters most of the time. The Hot Orange Mepps (undressed) has been a consistent high performer for 15 years. We each carry at least 4 of each in our tackle boxes at all times. (Many of the fish we catch have lots of teeth.) In our most recent 5 day trip, my boat alone logged over 60% of fish coaught with this one luer. Boat #2 had a lower percentage, but a higher total count. This luer does not disciminate. We catch and release Pike, Lmouth, Smallies, and even a Bowfin.
The sister Hot Chatruese also works, but not quite as well."

Awsome for Rainbow Trout,September 22, 2008
By AgliaFreakGreservoir
"I caught a one and a half foot trout in Glenmore Reservoir on my first cast. It's a shame because it slipped off the hook (You aren't allowed barbs in Alberta so I had to press them down). Easy to reel in. It works real good when you put on a large weight and let it sink before retrieving. Excellent performance. Really impressed."

#3 silver Mepps.,August 11, 2008
By Meppsman
"They've made 150+ varieties of the Mepps spinner, but this is the style they need. The last time I visited your Hamburg, PA store, they must have had 100+ different types of Mepps spinners up on the board for sale and the only two racks that were empty were the #2 and #3 Plain Aglia silver Mepps. The one drawback is the hooks are a little wimpy and they could also use a single hook alternative instead of a treble for those of us that favor "catch and release"."

Spinners,July 12, 2008
By MattyGfishingfrom Warren, MI
"I bought the 0, 1, and 2 for trout and perch and they really live up to the Mepps reputation of good quality."
"My first time out with a Mepps spinner was killer! I rigged up the #011 red/white (size 2) and it got hammered by a couple of good sized bluegill, a 1.5 to 2 lb bass, and 1lb catfish. The fish just couldn't resist it! I had also tied on Agila dressed (size 2) with silver spinner and it got hammered by some monster sized bluegill! The fish would attack it violently unlike any other lure or fly I have ever used!! This could quite possibly be the only type of lure you will ever need."

Streams and Rivers,June 17, 2008
By ProducerStevefrom NV
"I've loved mepps ever since "pops" taught me how to use the #0's and #1's for trought in Utah and northern Nevada. They are a little over priced anymore, but I guess that's inflation and when it comes to spinners, these are quality. I've got a tackle box full, and it's the first thing I tie on when I'm fishing running water."

"#0 all copper (sometimes a #1) are killer for brookies. not too bad for stream smallmouth either. there ought to be a couple in everyones box. #5 silver is a super pike spinner."
