Outstanding Bait,May 13, 2009
By Boliverfrom Arizona and Wyoming
"I have used the Road Runner bait on Bass, Crappie, and Trout with tremendous success. The horse head shape of the bait with the under chin spinner seems to antagonize the fish into a biting frenzy. They are adaptable to the addition of any of the small plastic soft baits such as worms, lizards, or jigs or a feather Malibou trailer may be tied."

"These jigs work awesome. The blade action is always perfect even at very slow speed, which is sometimes necessary to activate the crappie bite."

Blakemore Road runner Jigs,July 31, 2008
By Anonymousfrom Saskatchewan, Canada
"I have been looking for these jigs for years, ever since I had some given to me when I was a guide in Northern Saskatchewan. I picked up a package of each color 1/8 oz and headed North. Fishing was tough for walleye with the late spring and ice still on the lake in the first week of June. I managed to pick up a 5lb walleye which is a very good size for Northern Saskatchewan. I was using a hot orange road runner and a black single twister tail. When I got back home I order another 40 1/4 oz road runners for the future. Thank you Cabela's for carring these jigs."

road runner original,June 4, 2008
By neafishermanfrom Pocahontas, AR
"These are one of the best jigheads I've found. I do a lot of panfishing and I always bring them with me on my pond, the river, the lake, or anywhere I go. They have a little problem because the baits like to slip down but I always have them in my tackle box everywhere I go."

Good jig,May 25, 2008
By Catfisherkingfrom Ohio
"I like using this in dingy water where a little flash from the spinner blade helps. I hop it just like I use a regular jig and I fish it slow. Great for bouncing around rock pile."

Best bait ever made,September 25, 2007
By naturesflyfrom Elizabeth, Indiana
"Hate to give away my secrets but this is an excellent bait for any fish. i fish the 1/16 oz. chart original head because the hooks bends out when it snags, the red hook series or the premier do not due to heavier hooks. They bait are amazing for crappie. Tie one on and give it a try, its no wonder jimmy houston catches so many fish. These are awesome baits. Ive caught two 7lb bass this year alone, a 9lb cat, and countless white bass and stripers. You cant fish it wrong, as long as you fish it slow....s-l-o-w-!"

i should have brought more...,September 10, 2007
By newmasteranglerx2from Lincolnshire, IL
"a great product. I shared mine with several friends on a recent trip to Canada. I won the daily prize for largest fish 5 days straight, for walleyes. I used them for the entire trip until i ran out the last day. One group of guys from Chicago were struggling until I gave them a handful.....they all starting catching fish and were very appreciative. Next year I'll bring more."

Defective Jigheads,July 26, 2007
By Rokester
"Received my order of fluorescent red jig heads today. All the eyes were painted over closed. Thought I'd just go ahead and open the eyes with a pin, no problem right? Then I noticed that almost half of the hook points were bent as well. Two strikes right out of the box. I'll be sending this order back for a refund."

Great jigs!!,July 15, 2007
By Fishnfoo
"I hadn't used them in years. I bought some this spring for crappie and they killed them along with bass, bluegill, small stripers, and walleye. If it swims tip one of these with a plastic tail or minnow and you'll catch it. These are the jigs everyone should have a couple sizes and colors in thier bag."

Road Runnter Jig Heads,July 13, 2007
By RichardPAfrom Pittston, PA
"I saw some famous anglers using these Road Runner Jigs on TV outdoor shows. I bought a pack to try them out.
I used the Road Runner Jig with a Berkley Gulp 3 inch minnow (Item:IH-119270 in Perl) and caught many Crappies and Perch by just trolling the Jig behing my electric trolling motor. Caught one very big Crappie about 10 inches long with this jig. One thing you must do is troll or cast then reel it in slow and steady for Crappies. Let it sink to their depth and just reel it in slow and steady. Not fast or eraddic.
To add some more hooking power, I also added a red trailer hook by putting the trailer hook eye over the jig hook. The trailer hook's eye must be large enough to slip over the Road Runnter Jig's hook and barb. A straight eye hook with a larger eye is ideal for the trailer in red or steel color. I used the same size trailer hook as the jig hook size. This is similar to how anglers use trailer hooks on spinner baits for bass. Using the trailer hook increased hooked fish by 30 to 50% more because the fish like to nabb at the Berkley minnow tail.
I would recommend these jigs in several colors for Crappies and all panfish. The blade on this jig definitely attracts more strikes than a regular jig.
You can also use a salted minnow, grub, waxworm, or other bait on the jig. They work great and I will buy more colors for my tackle box. You also get plenty of them in a pack.

By junebarry66from San Jose C.A.
"So far this lure has exceded my expectations, first day I slipped a crappie(white)jig on it and caught 2 bass and 3 crappie, within an hour!!It seems like you can put any soft plastic on it and with the spoon it gives it a little flash, which is what I was looking for,it suited my purpose vey well.Easy to cast and went right where I wanted it."

Blakemore Roadrunners,January 23, 2007
By lochlunkerfrom Richmond, Virginia
"Absolutely the best lures in my tackle box !!! The members of our small bassfishing club have enjoyed outstanding results with Roadrunners. In the past month we have landed at least 5 largemouth bass over 8 pounds, including one 10 pound 6 oz lunker. The key to success with Roadrunners is to follow Blakemore's advice ---- fish very S-l-o-w-l-y."

The best bait I ever fished,November 20, 2006
By RMMLEMfrom Fuquay Varina, NC
"I was invited to the Bienville Plantation in January 2006 to fish with a group of good friends. We had 5 boats, 5 guides, two men to a boat and 2 days to fish this great place. When I met my guide and he saw my tackle box the first thing he told me was I could leave all of my tackle in our lodge. The guide shows me a white Road Runner and told me this was the only bait I would need for the trip. Up until this moment I had never seen or heard of a Road Runner. I told the guide that I wanted to catch bass and crappie. The guide assurred me the Road Runner would be fine. I purchased two sizes from the Bienville pro shop and we headed out. We fished all day with the white Road Runner and I caught bass, cat fish, crappie and one angry alligator. We fished two full days and between the five boats we caught more carppie than I have seen in a life time. Kudos to Bienville Plantation and to Road Runner. Since that trip I have fished almost exclusively the Road Runner bait and introduced several people to this amazing bait. I still buy interesting lures and still try almost anything when I fish 1 to 2 times each week. I can tell you that almost every trip I end up with a road runner on my line and fish in my live well. I purchased my bass tracker 3 years ago did not catch many fish the first two years. (Novice in training). I have to admit the white Road Runner has changed me from fishing to catching and increased the pleasure factor."
