Salmon fishing with this crappie pole,November 12, 2009
By Panaceafrom Residing in Anchorage, Alaska since 1995
"We don't have panfish in Alaska, but we do have an abundance of trout and salmon. I purchased the B'n'M jig pole in the 14 foot length to pull salmon out of brush piles in our rivers and streams. The pole went way beyond expectations. First of all, I am catching 10 to 12 pound fish on a pole designed for crappies and bluegills. I am also using 20 pound test line with a small spinning reel. I find I can be very stealthy fishing from shore as the 14 foot length allows me to stay back from the bank a bit so as to not spook the fish. And a surprise benefit of the long rod is it's flexibility allowing the rod to take more stress than one would think. It also has added to the enjoyment of landing these big fish because you cannot horse them in as with heavier gear. I have also found that I can cast great distances using lighter lures than I could before. Because of the extra stress, I did loose a ceramic insert to one of the eyes, but I cannot fault the rod. I gladly purchase another."

"B'n'M Bucks graphite jig poles are the best value for the buck that I've ever experienced. It has outstanding feel and the strength at the tip is super. the first time I used it was on a bed of spawning crappie and it worked great. I would recommend this pole for anyone, especially crappie fishermen and women."

"This is the only pole that is worth buying as far as I am concerned. I have owned several others but this is now the only one I will fish with."

Abnormal usage,September 3, 2007
By DCMaraboufrom Northwestern British Columbia, Canada
"Very strong and very tough rod. I use it in Northern Canada fishing for King [Chinook] salmon ranging in weight up to 60 pounds each. Very effective for use with light jigs, fishing in slower rivers with ultra light line [12# range]. I have landed hundreds of salmon with this combination and would recommend it to anyone looking for a challenge in fishing.....by the way, barbless hooks are a must when jigging....I own 2 such rods in the 12 ft. model and have used one of them for 9 years and still uses it regularly. Highly recommended."

Poorest Craftsmanship Award!,July 4, 2007
By sarnfrom portland,or
"I bought it for Crappie fishing. Didn't even want to use it at all! The quality was very low grade, the finishing was peeling, last but not least, when I put the pole together, it wasn't even straight!
I returned it as soon as I could."

Bucks Jig Pole,November 22, 2006
By TexicanTomfrom South Texas
"I bought this pole so that I could convert it to throw small lures while wade fishing for Red Fish. I prefer a very limber long rod for throwing to tailing red fish. This rod is acceptable after converting it with regular spinning rod eyes. I have had some problems with back lashes but it will do the job. Having to convert it is a pain."

Buck's Graphite Jig Poles,November 21, 2006
By shellshuckerfrom Shelby, North Carolina
"These rods have everything I want-the tip is sensitive enough to detect the lightest strike but still have enough backbone to haul in larger fish. I have tried many others but keep coming back to B&M poles--I now have 16!!!"
