Is this a home movie?,April 5, 2009
By wjbIIIfrom San Antonio Tx
"I've been a loyal Cabela's customer for years, and this is the first time that I have been disappointed by a Cabela's product. This DVD is of such poor quality it makes me wonder if it is just a home movie. I can't believe that Cablea's would allow their name to be associated with such an aweful production."

"The Dvd is painful to watch because of the poor sound and picture quality. Cant believe this product would even make it onto the shelf. My highschool morning news was better than this movie. As far as educational it wasnt. My girlfriend who doesnt fish much rolled her eyes at this one."

Not good,October 23, 2007
By wavesliderfrom Los Angeles, CA
"I bought this DVD for my girlfriend who is not a beginner but not yet an "expert". The Video, Sound and Production quality of this is far below what I've come to expect from Cabelas. Played on a high quality Sony DVD player with good speakers I couldn't get through the whole thing because it was just too frustrating to watch/listen to. Much of the audio was so muffled, I couldn't understand what was being said. Also, rather than showing the person casting the fly and watching the drift, the video would be on the person trying to describe what they were doing rather than on what they were actually doing. I could buy an audio book for that. I simply cannot recommend this for anyone mainly due to the production quality but I also don't think the topics and treatment of the sport (for what I could hear/see) wasn't particularly good either."

Not so great.,April 11, 2007
By wildfire7from Carson City, Nv.
"I purchased this video with very high hopes, and without ready the reviews. I tried to continue through the video dispite horrible editing and even worse audio quality. I already know that Cabela's has an excellent selection of fly-fishing equipment, it was not necessary to spend the amount of time that this video did on showing off the Cabela's retail store. The video changed subjects very abruptly and seemed to pull most of the actual material about fly fishing from other videos. I also thought that it was interesting that a couple of the gentlemen featured in the video wore equipment not carried by Cabela's. Overall, make a different choice if you want to improve your fly fishing."

Shame on Cabela's,April 4, 2007
By BossStebfrom Washington, PA
"Cabela's fine line of products is disgraced by having their name on this one...it is a shameless 120 minutes of advertising so poorly done I was afraid it was harming my DVD... The product is not well edited, there was little to no substance in education aspect. I am a beginner and learned nothing of value except that Cabela's has lots of fly fishing equipment. The sound is bad, cuts in and out, sections repeat themselves, the camera angles are eratic and difficult. A bad product!"

Not worth your money,January 22, 2007
By husker121from Washington State
"I was not impressed with this DVD. The editing was sub par there was one scene that litterally repeated 3 times in a row and it was a 3-4 min scene. The sound was really staticy and there where times where the mouth was moving and there was no sound what so ever only to come back later in the middle of a sentance.
The Scenes on the river and when they talked to professional Fly fishermen where pretty good scenes and they deffinatly knew their stuff. But the over all infomercial feel to the movie as a whole made me sad I spent the money in the first place."

Can't improve my flyfishing with this DVD :(,November 15, 2006
By Icebok2
"Maybe I got a bad disk. The production quality was pretty bad, audio breaking or missing completely.
It's not all bad and there are a few minutes of intertesting video. Over all, however, I felt is was a minimal amount of useful information and more of a commercial for Cabelas.
Summary of DVD - Hire a guide and ask him what to do."
