"This is my third set of Cabela's waders and I couldn't be happier. All of my fly fishing buddies buy Simms waders at more than twice the price and they seem to leak more than mine and last about as long. I regularly wade tough western freestone rivers. My 7 year old waders finally leaked around a seam in the stocking foot, probably caused by shoe abrasion. Tough to fix, but I managed. By the time I figured it out, I bought a new pair. The only downside is that Cabela's does not provide a repair service, you are on your own, but with a little help from the internet, I learned how to repair them myself and now carry the right stuff to the stream with me. I am more prepared and confident and now have an extra pair just in case. The third pair are new waist highs that I use with the float tube."

"I wear a 34" waist with a 30" inseam and a size 10 shoe. I started off with size large which ranged in shoe size from a 10 to a 12. When I got the waders, the waist might fit someone with a 60" waist! I stuffed these into the Back Country side zip wading shoes, size 10, and after 3 hours of fishing my feet felt like they were dead. I tried them again the next day with the same results - aching feet. So I sent them back and exchanged them for a mediuim size, which gives a foot size range from 7 to 10. I tried these with the same boots and they feel much better. I like the waist high as I never wade out deeper than 3' in a river and they are much cooler than my Premuim boot foot chest waders during warm weather. They are definately water tight. Product improvement suggestions would be to one: make the waist high waders with a boot foot option like the chest high waders have. And two: put some belt loops on the Premium chest high waders so one could convert them into waist high waders by tucking the top in during warm weather. It would be nice if they were to build a store in Colorado so I could have tried on both sizes in person and have avoided the return shipping charge."

"Recently purchased the waders and used them just last week in the Sierras. The waders worked great. light weight, cool and very functional. My only complaint is the sizing - I have a 11 1/2 shoe size and thus I am required to wear a size L. The waist is huge and I have a 34" waist. It works but is very baggy at the waist and requires a belt to snug them up."

"I have used these waders only twice since I bought them, but I have owned the chest waders (same type) for over a year and gave them lots of use over a number of week-long trips over different parts of the country.
I'm pleased with the features of the waist highs, the durability, and the gravel guards hold up better than they might appear. So far, these waist highs have been an excellent value for the money.
Two criticisms, which is why I didn't assign five stars to the waist waders: first, I wish the wading belt was attached to the waistband and used a hook-and-loop closure/cinching system (similar to a competitor's comparable but slightly higher priced model) instead of being a separate woven nylon belt with plastic clip closure; and second, I wish these waders were made for those of us with shorter legs in proportion to our overall height. My inseam is about 29" and I am 5'9", and I had to buy "Large/stout,"which is too baggy. This also means that the legs are at least 3" too long for me, so I look like a walking tan garbage bag while fishing.
That's no criticism of the quality of the product, just a hope that Cabela's will eventually manufacture waders that are sized for those of us not built like male models."

"I have used them twice, keep me dry and comfortable. I ordered the XL, but were not true to size, called the order line, they were helpful and fast in getting me a new pair and taking in the exchange. I am 6'2" and the XXL are a little tall, and almost pass for a full waider, which is nice. I fished last week in Oregon, I had Cabela's vest, hat, waiders, boots.....didn't help me catch any more fish...but damned if I didn't look great! My friend calls me a poster-child for Cabelas....LOL"

"I have both the chest high and the waist high versions of this product. I use the waist high in warmer weather. I really like the padded knees, as I fish small streams a lot, and spend a good bit of time kneeling while I fish.
Being 5' 8", and 210#, I do find the legs to be a bit long and the knees baggy. It would be nice if they would make a stout version, as they do for the chest waders. Other than that, the fit is good, and they hold up well to bush whacking.
The waist highs make it much easier to answer a call of nature, and they are a lot cooler on a hot summer day.
Great product for the money."

"this is the second pair I've had , the first ones are almost 7 years old and got lots of abuse .. I finally walked down to the lake too many times without sandals and put some small holes in the feet ..the new ones seem even better constructed than the old ones ...NB.... I am 5'11" aprox 190 lbs foot size 9 and normally would take a large ... a MED was what I ordered based, on other reviews I read and they are a perfect fit ....you will not be dissapointed with these waders"

"I have *not* tried these fishing yet, as the runoff started the day after I ordered them. However, there have been many comments on sizing and I thought I'd help out.
I ordered the SMALL. I am 5'9", 170 lbs, wear size 9 shoe and boot, and I wear 34x30 (waist x inseam) jeans. They fit perfectly. I'd say there may be slightly more room still available in the foot, but not a lot. There is plenty of extra room in the waist, the belt cinches up nicely.
They seem really well-made and they're comfortable. The only thing I noticed is that it's a little tricky to get the foot out of the sock, but not a big problem. Now let's see if they help me catch some trout!"

"These are excellent waders, especially for the price. They're well constructed and look like they're going to stand up to a lot of hard use. The build-in gaiters do a nice job of keeping dirt and stones out of the Cabela's Guidewear Boots I paired them with. Mediums fit my 6' / 190 frame perfectly; glad I didn't order the large. Waist-highs are fine for fishing Midwest Driftless Area spring creeks and are a lot cooler than chest highs."

"I recently traveled to West Va for trout fishing the Potomac River. These waist high waders were extremely comfortable considering the temperature was in the mid-90 degree range. I have used rubber hip waders for over 30 years and will never go back. Absolutely worth the money. The stocking foot coupled with wading shoes is much less stressful on the body following a full day of fishing."
