Adjustable Force Fin, August 2, 2009
By JMcUtah from Cedar City Utah

"Exceptional fin for float tube or pontoon boats. I have owned a pair for 5 years, and when my wife started to flyfish, we tried some low budget fins. Eventually she was using my Force Fins and it was absolutely necessary for me to purchase another set or use the cheap ones.........not a chance!!!! I gladly purchased another set. You can't go wrong and will absolutely love them."

Force Fins, July 20, 2009
By flytyer26 from Golen, CO

"Force Fins are awesome!!!!!!!! No other fins even compare. Thrust is great, adjustability is easy and painless. If you have a tube or a pontoon, don't waste your time with cheaper off brand fins. Go with force fins. You will be sorry if you don't!"

Expensive-but you get what you pay for, June 19, 2009
By John538 from Delta County, Colorado

"I purchased a couple of cheaper pair of fins mostly because I didn't want to spend 4 times the amout for the Force fins. Well, I broke a fin on the first pair the third time out. The second pair would not fit my feet (men's size 11) even with lightweight wading sandals. So I finally purchased a pair of force fins. The quality is evident on first inspection. These fins are well made! Contary to one of the other reviews I found the the over the foot strap easy to adjust and once set it only needs to be changed if I change wading boots. the other big difference I noticed the first time I used them was how easy they are to walk in. This is a big deal getting into and out of the water. The design and material of these fins is first rate. I should have listened to the sales person a the Cabela's store and bought these the first time around."

The new ones suck, the old one are GREAT, May 15, 2009
By LipRipper89521 from Reno, Nevada

"I have had the old ones (simple to put on, single strap) without all the over the instep/padded support etc. and they are GREAT. Bought the newer design 5-6 years ago and can't stand them. PAIN in the rear to put on, so I don't use them. My wife was using the newer pair, but now is fed up with the hassle of putting them on. Looking to get another pair of the older/simpler pair. YES they are very pricey compared to other fins, but I can't commet on the others as I have only used the force fins. But $200 or so is alot of clams for fins."

Force fins, April 23, 2009
By SuperDave178 from Washington state

"Although I have the older an less expensive model Force fins I can attest to their ability to move a "tuber" about with little effort.

Cheaper fins may be appealing but they simply don't do the job as well as fins of the Force fin design.

I've been "tubing" since the sixties and have used many types of fins including those offered in "package" deals with low-end float tubes. They are in no way the equivilant of Force fins.

Adjustable Deluxe Force Fins, September 27, 2008
By SMFlyGuy from Santa Monica, CA

"I was somewhat dubious about these oddly shaped fins, but I was also looking for something that would fit over my wading boots. I am dubious no more. The Force Fins fit just fine over my boots and are very comfortable. I used them for almost a full day the first time out. No discomfort and plenty of thrust. However, as another reviewer pointed out, you'll be much happier if you make all the initial strap adjustments at home. Putting Force Fins on over a pair of boots for the first time is a bit complicated. And best done at home and not lakeside."

you pay for the hype, September 3, 2008
By Robert1247 from Denver, CO

"For all the hype I heard about these fins, they are no better than the $30 fins you can buy from Cabela's. The stroke you use for propulsion is not intuitive, and you have to struggle to turn."

Worth the Money!, August 25, 2008
By YNPBear from Wisconsin near the Kinni and Rush!

"Bottom line: These fins are worth the money!

My Force Fins are by far the best of the 3 pairs of fins that I own. You can tell as you are putting them on that they are much better designed and constructed than the lower priced pairs. The plus points are:
1. Secure fit on the top and bottom of your foot. Very comfortable padded top adjustment.
2. "Stays tight" heel adjustment. Easy to use. Stay's tight.
3. They even fit my size 11 feet (in my wading boots)!
4. They propel on both the up and down stroke, which means more go...for less effort! SIGNIFCANTLY better propulsion than the other fins.
5. The up turned toes let you walk forward!! Do NOT underestimate how nice that is!! After you have taken a couple bad falls...trying to walk backward to the lake...You'll be buying these...or giving up float tubes!

So here's the deal. Your going to buy these eventually, because they are just that much better than everything else!

Be a Duck!, July 21, 2008
By ChumlineSkip from Sunny Ventura, California

"Don't waste your time on cheap fins when float tubing. Fins are as important as your tube. I now own three pairs of float tube fins, Cheap, mid-priced and Force fins. Force Fins are by far the best quality, most efficient and best designed for the needs of the float tuber. Weither walking, tubing or fighting the wind you will join the ranks of other web footed friends and your legs will say thank you! Force fins are the best!"

Best fins yet for float tubing, May 28, 2008
By JeffinCO from Denver area, Colorado

"Having used several fins of various types for scuba diving, I was dismayed when I took up fly fishing by the terribly poor fins that it seemed many anglers used while float tubing. It seemed that no one in the fly fishing industry recognized how significant a difference in propulsion, comfort, and in safety for that matter, a well-designed fin might offer to anglers.
Force Fin here provides a nearly perfect solution. These fins provide the power that you need while in a float tube, and offer the flexibility that allows you to motor along comfortably for hours on your favorite lake. I found that I could maneuver and turn with ease, and move along quite fast if I wanted to. Their foot pocket (if you can call it that) fits a size 11 wet wading boot very nicely, and the straps, one over the top, and one behind the heel, secure the fin confidently.
Having said that, don' try to adjust this fin to your boot on your first day using them at the lake. Take the time to get the fit right while you're at home. Adjust the top strap to snugly hold your foot in place, so all you'll need do on site is to buckle it up. The heel strap is meant to pull tight with a tug on the end, so leave it loose when you step in. This adjustment effort takes a little time, but it's worth doing.
The difference between these fins and those $35 jobs is dramatic. Yes, they cost some significant coin, but how much did you spend on that rod, that reel, those waders, and all the rest of the gear? Frankly, I want a fin that I can use all day, that won't fall off of my feet, and that feels and functions more like a serious fin than a slab of plywood. These fins do the job right.
Just buy 'em.

Spent 62 days in NZ with these--they are GREAT!!!, February 17, 2008
By monstertrout

"I am an intense float tuber. Just got back from float tubing 62 days in New Zealand. I decided to buy these after talking to the owner of Force Fins--he said they would be easier to use and be more efficient. Believe me, these work better than anything out there, period. I was able to float tube to any part of the lake I wanted without any fear that I couldn't get back. I was even able to be out on the lake in gale force winds when everybody else had left. I paddled 10-12 hours in my float tube each day for 62 days--almost every item I brought broke (rods, reels, waders, sunglasses, camera, scale, etc) but these just kept on working like they should. I depend on great equipment because I am fishing till midnight a long way from my car. These fins worked better than any I ever used. I was able to go about 40% farther each day as compared to my old fins that were said to be top-of-the-line. If you need the absolute best fins then there is no better. They cost a bunch because they will get you home in the middle of the night when you are bucking a wind in pitch dark and if your fins fail you are short on luck. These may not be for everybody but if you are a serious tuber than there is no finer fin available."

overpriced and not worth it, October 30, 2007
By bluefox2 from Idaho

"Thinking I would buy the very best in float tube fins, I forked out the $$ for a pair of these fins before a recent fishing trip to Alaska. I took them before trying them first and left my old pair at home. BIG MISTAKE. These fins are difficult to put on, complicated to adjust, and very heavy. Despite claims of superior performance, I quickly discovered the only direction you can go is backward. You cannot pivot or manuever at all; if you try to put any angle at all on your kick, you will get no purchase. If you're facing one direction and see a fish off in another direction, you cannot turn with a kick and cast to it. Also they only generate force on the upkick, so they do not work more efficiently. The funky design is no more than a gimmick to trick people into thinking they are somehow better and worth paying quadruple the cost.

The only good I can say is they are solid and should last a long time, and you can walk forward better. If you need to walk a long ways in your fins, then yes they are better. But no other benefits I can see from the outrageous cost. Save your money for a good rod or reel or take your sweetie out for a nice dinner instead. I wish I had!

love then, October 12, 2007
By sweetness from washington

"I went on a fishing trip last month and borrowed these fins from my uncle and fell in love with them, after using myn it was like night and day all I had to do was walk backwards and I was half way across the lake, the only reason that they did not get 5 stars is because of the price little pricey but might be worth it"

"This my third pair of float fins. These are the sweetest fins I have ever owned. The last ones snapped with a little pressure on a rock and the Force Fins make me feel like an Olympic Athlete. I leave my friends in the wake of my pontoon boat.
I would recommend them to anyone who demands the "BEST".

force fins, February 19, 2007
By rocktawn

"force fins are over priced and complicated to use. Buying these fins are like buying a $900.00 fly reel. All you are spending is a lot of money for line storage. I have a pair of $30.00 float tube fins and they are superb. Spend more money on a quality flyrod."

adjustable force fins, November 26, 2006
By dabullit from CA

"I purchased the adjustable force fins for float tubing, and they worked great. My friend has the non-adjustable, and it would hurt the top of his foot after a long day's kicking. These were the cure: no pain! Also, the amount of power these fins produce is unreal with the little effort. You can be in the water all day without your legs starting to cramp up. I would recommend these for anyone who is looking into upgrading fins for float tubing. I will not use any other fin out there. I would have given them 5 stars if they would have not cost so much."

Buy the real thing, not the knock-offs, November 24, 2006
By Starman77 from Kent, WA (near Seattle)

"These adjustable Force Fins are by far the best fins for fishing from a float tube or pontoon boat. They are short enough to walk around on shore by walking forward instead of backward as you have to do with most other fins. The quality of construction is first class. The knock-offs don't perform as well as the real thing, so don't waste your money on those cheaper ones. You get much better propulsion out of these Force Fins than other fins; my friends often wonder how I can paddle around so quickly and I think it is because of these fins. Another thing I like about the adjustable Force Fins is that I can wear them over my stocking foot waders while wearing just a neoprene bootie, or I can wear them over my wading boots, which are larger, or I can loan them to a friend who has a different foot size and it isn't a problem. Try that with the non-adjustable Force Fins. The new clip is a vast improvement over the old Velcro strap, as it makes it a lot quicker to exit the fins than previously."
