"This is just the thing for someone like me who doesn't like to wear a vest. I just pin it to my wader strap where there is limited room for accessories. I like the rotating locking style fastener. I don't worry about it coming loose. Seems well made. Thanks!"

"Bought this baby because of the reputation that Cabelas gear has, but I was disappointed. After using this three times, it ended up in a river in Souther Utah. The pin had slipped before, but I was able to catch it. I ended up missing it this time and it ended up in the river along with my forceps and snipper. Even if this baby is on sale do yourself a favor and look for something else. Other reviews have had similar experiences. While Cabelas makes great stuff, this one got through quality control somehow. Good luck on the water."

"I've only had one chance to use the double retractor and it worked ok. Only the small pin on the back seems like a weak point in it's usefulness. I plan to remove the pin and using epoxy, attach a stronger and more reliable device for clipping it to my fishing vest."

"Zinger action works good, unfortunately the pin that attaches it to the vest is thin for the length and bends too easy. As a result, it is in the creek somewhere with the lightweight attachments I had still on it."

Bulk belies brawn,

"The double retractor is significantly heavier and larger than the usual clip on retractor. One would assume that this added bulk would give the retractor the strength to manage two devices. I used the retractor for a small penknife and as a safety lanyard for my digital camera, hooking it to my pants waistband. In the first 48 hours of use the attachment pin pulled out from the body of the retractor and the housing cracked. The double retractor is more a toy than a tool."

"Normally Cabelas products are great, this one unfortunatly is a little sub part. The pin on the back doesnt have a good clasp. It kept falling off till I finally lost it. If it had a better pin it would be fine."

"My old retractor broke and i scanned the internet for a new one. After i saw the Cabelas Double Retactor and the price i ordered it. The Double Retractor turned out to be the item i needed and worked well. i have hundreds of flies, boxes and gadgets and this item fit in perfectly. i fished 80 times (so far) this year and don't treat my stuff nicely and not a problem.
