This powder is great for floating and waterproofing dry flies. It also creates realistic air bubbles on weighted nymphs, wet flies and emergers.

Best floatant ever.,October 29, 2009
By Toledotimberfrom Toledo, OH
"That's it. It is better than any other powdered floatant and better than any silicone gel/paste I've tried. I haven't tried them all, but I have used Orvis silicone, SA silicone, Loon Aquel, Shimazaki powder, and Orvis Shake 'n' Float. It does need to be reapplied more often than I anticipated, but not as often as any of the others I've tried."

"dry fly floatant a fly fisherman will ever need or should ever use. Do yourself a favor and throw out the silicone based vasaline like fly floatants. Frogs fanny would float a battleship around."

"If you're not carefull, it can really dry out your fingertips. Other than that, this is a woonderfull product. It dries soaked flies quickly, and sheds water so well that I've floated beadhead nymphs with it!"

This stuff is the real deal,August 18, 2008
By trout7trout
"This desiccant is the real deal. It turns a fish slimed fly into a floater in seconds. The material really causes flies to float high in the water. I love this stuff. The only issue is when the wind blows the power is hard to apply. A small price to pay for such a great product."

A MUST for CDC flies!,August 6, 2008
By PAflytyer197from Maple Glen,PA
"The truth be told I carrier and use both Frogs Fanny and a liquid/gel style. The Frogs Fanny product is only product that works on CDC flies.Gel products would foul the CDC. This product directs user to brush on fly with brush that is in bottle. Do not try to shake on fly, it needs to be embedded deep into the CDC, hackle, and dubbing of your. When tandem fly fishing I use Frog Fanny on my dry fly as a indicator and a dropper off the hook bend.I find even after the dropper fly pulls the dry under for a second or so, the dry will soon break the film and return my dry back to the surface. See you on the stream."

too light,December 3, 2007
By flyinfishfrom pa
"I will stick with the Shake type products. The frogs fanny dried the flies but the applicator brush makes for a mess and a lot of wasted product."

"Throw away all other floatants in your vest. I've tried them all in my 26+ years of fly fishing and Frogs Fanny is hands down the best product ever to float your dries. It also works great to trap bubbles in your winged emerger patterns to make them look realistic. Go get some now!!"

Cheat'n the Wind Outta Drying It,November 25, 2006
By SuzieQFlyGirlfrom Berkeley, IL
"Okay, so my fishing buddies say this is a cheating tool. I'm supposed to dry my fly by making false casts over and over so that it "naturally" dries my floating fly. Problem is you're losing fishing time doing it the old-fashioned way. And a drowned fly sometimes never seems to float right again, no matter how many false casts you do. So I bought this stuff. I was somewhat amazed on how it works. It "puffs" up the fly's feathers and hairs and does cause some air bubbles to keep the fly afloat longer. I "pre" Frog'd some flys before hitting the stream and put them into my case to avoid getting stuck on the water without it. Or losing the bottle if I dropped it out on the water. Yep, I'm cheating the wind outta drying my floating flies, but I'm catching more fish when I use Frogs Fanny."

Frog's Fanny,November 20, 2006
By brookiefrom Belford, NJ
"I started using Frog's Fanny after a trip to the Bighorn. The guide was recommending a product that was granulated silica to help dry the fly after a successful hook-up. I had been a paste user for 50 years and could immediately see the advantage of the silica over paste alone, but the silica didn't last long enough. After a few shakes the fine powder was gone and the effectiveness compromised. Not so with Frog's Fanny. You get excellent drying and the entire bottle is filled with fine drying powder. The slimest fly is returned to like new condition after a few shakes. It is easy to use and cuts down on lost fishing time drying your fly to get a good drift"

Simply the best,November 15, 2006
By Flyfishingfanaticfrom New England
"Once you have tried Frogs Fanny, you'll never consider buying a different floatant again! The combination of fine powder and the brush is absolutely essential for properly drying out fine feathers like CDC. You'll get twice as many casts out of your dry flies between treatments than you are accustomed to. Sometimes this can be the difference that makes the right fly selection possible. Even the most waterlogged size 10 monster can be fully recovered."

An excellent floatant for the dry fly fisher,October 30, 2006
By Bamboomanfrom New York Tristate area
"I have been using the Frog's Fanny product since I was introduced to it by a professional guide while fishing the Farmington River in northwestern Connecticut. It does an outstanding job of keeping the dry fly on the surface as long as the angler follows the rather specific instruction of always using the brush to applly the flaky powder to the fly. The secret is using the brush and not your fingers to work the powder into the fly.
I have pulled dry flies under the surface many times only to have them pop back up to the surface and float after only one application of Frogs Fanny. It is an excellent floatant."
