New Look for an Old Cat,June 18, 2009
By JohnTNfrom Oakland, Tennessee, USA
"The camo tape kit turned my aging (year 2000) Arctic Cat into a new machine! ... Well, at least one that LOOKS new. The Cat has always run very well, and holds its own with a lot of newer machines, but its plastic fenders and steel racks got pretty badly scratched up over years of rough-country 4-wheeling.
I took the advice of other reviewers, and removed the racks first -- and took the opportunity to spray those racks with bronze hammertone Rust-O-Leum spray paint, making THEM look new as well. The greenish-metallic paint color looked great with the Mossy Oak camo tape. I also took the advice of the other reviewers and got TWO four-roll packs of tape to make sure I had enough; but I found that one pack was enough to do the Arctic Cat -- just barely, but enough. Now I have a pack to spare... hmmmm, I wonder how my John Deere mower would look in Mossy Oak.
Haven't had any problems with the tape peeling; but I did NOT try to lap it over the fender edges -- left an inch or so of bare plastic "trim" all around the camo area. I did clean off all of the plastic with Mequier's motorcycle plastic cleaner before starting -- believe that helps the tape stick better.
As others have noted, doing it right takes a long time (maybe four or five hours, at least); but the end results are well worth the effort."

It works pretty darn good,February 23, 2009
By Drewstercatfrom Tallahassee Fl
"My brother had used the product on his a few years prior and liked it and had 1.5 rolls of tape left so I purchased 2 more Rolls. The product bonds well with a cleaned surface and made my 89 Bayou look darn good. The newer tape bonded better than the rolls I acquirred from my Brother due to shelve life I suppose. Gtreat stuff !"

Works as it's supposed to,February 3, 2009
By JGT3from Houston
"I've been pleased with this product. Per other reviews, you should know going in that to get anything close to a satisfactory job, you'll need to remove all the plastic from the ATV and clean it thoroughly. I washed, abraded with steel wool, and lightly rubbed with acetone. You're not going to apply this in less than a couple of hours.
Also, you should accept the fact that there are going to be some wrinkles on curved surfaces. You can't avoid it, so if that's a turnoff, don't buy the product. Keep the "relief cuts" to a minimum and live with the wrinkles
Dealing with the edges is the only tricky part. You can glue them down with a better adhesive to keep them from fraying. I bought 12 feet of rubber trim molding from an auto supply place. It has a 1/8" gap and is about 1/2" wide. I used to to trim all the exposed edges and it locked down the edge of the camo tape.
Is the finish perfect? No. Is it wrinkle free and the equivolent of buying OEM camo plastic? No. However, I think those are unrealistic expectations for a "camo tape" finish, so I'm not going to knock it for those things. It does exactly what it is supposed to do so it gets 5 stars."

Cabela's ATV Camo Tape,January 8, 2009
By JBentleyfrom Camino, California ( Apple Hill )
"I had a 03' Eigar, Fire Engine Red Quad. Now thanks to this product I have a Mossy Oak 03' that does not stand out in a forest when I am big game hunting. My bubbies love it,and want me to customize their quads. I really took my time (3 six hour days) and did all sort of custom cuts it came out great. However the four roll pack was not enough for the entire machine and I purchased a additional roll to finish it up. I put two cans of Scotch guard water repellant on it and so far its holding up just great in all sort of bad conditions."

Camo Tape,September 29, 2008
By DM247from Adirondacks, NY
"It took me about 8-10 hours total time to apply this stuff. You will definately have to take the quad apart to apply the tape the right way. If not it will look terrible. You will also need some spray adhesive to apply to the edges. The biggest thing is take your time, dont be in a hurry to finish or it won't come out right."

never again,July 7, 2008
By admannscfrom Rock Hill, SC
"First, it was not as easy to apply as it would seem. If you have luggage racks you can just about forget it. Make sure you can remove these before you order. I had to use small sections and it took several hours and an extra roll. It did look great after it was applied but it faded rather quickly in the sun and when I tried to remove the tape, a residue stuck everywhere and I had to use goo gone to remove this. Also the tape pulled off the mfgs decals and warning labels. It took 3 hours on a saturday morning to get most of the adhesive residue off. I dont think I will ever get it all off. I do regret that I purchased this prdouct. If you plan on keeping your atv, buy it. If you plan on selling your atv, i would not unless you have extra decals and lots of time to remove the adhesive that is left behind. Sorry about the poor review but this is my experience. Jim"

ATV CAMO TAPE,June 2, 2008
By BuddyWfrom Norfolk, VA
"I purchased this tape to cover the fenders on my 2006 arctic cat trv. One atv kit consisted of four rolls. I purchased an extra roll to ensure I had enough. Even with the extra roll, it was barely enough to cover the atv plastic. Additionally, the extra roll that was sent with the kit looked very different from the four rolls that came in the kit (even though they were the same camo pattern.) This is a cloth material tape that the ends must be continuously glued down. I would not recommend this product for an atv."

Good Product,March 31, 2008
By clarkiefrom Powassan, Ontario
"This is a good product but there is just enough to do the job. Do yourself a favour and order an extra roll. Also, the adhesive could be a little "stickier". I didn't want to remove the tape so I sealed the seams with gorilla glue and so far I've had no problems. Also, prior to putting the front and rear racks back on I sprayed the tape with additional waterproofing. Take your time and the end product will do well. I think this type of camo is more realistic that some manufacturers are providing on their stock machines."

Good protector,February 21, 2008
By gleslie1from Northern Alberta Canada
"If you really want to protect the panels on your ATV then this is a great product. I have installed it on a 2007 Honda TRX 420 4 X 4 and it looks great. It is a bit of a challenge to install so set aside lots of time to do a good job. Maybe a heat gun would help."
"This stuff is amazing. I have read other reviews stating that it"s difficult to use. That is not exactly correct. If you disassemble and CLEAN the body parts to be wrapped(with soapy water then a light alchol wipe) and have some patience, the result is very professional and durable. A hot air hair drier and #2 hobby knife come in very handy for the more difficult curvy/tight areas. Edges can be sealed with rubber cement to prevent lifting over time, however I recomend an adheasive made by 3M called Edge Sealent, which is clear and compatiable with the camo cloth tape, plastic and metal surfaces. If you want a awesome camy job to your ATV at a really low price, and can spend some time on your project doing it the right way, this is your stuff!"

Camo Tape For Fourwheeler,January 10, 2008
By bam41from Lexington, TN
"I have applied the tape and am overall very satisified with the outcome. If you purchase the 4 roll pack such as I did and plan on just taping over any red(or whatever color you are trying to cover) you should have enough. But I am very paticular...and removed the plastic from my 4-wheeler and done it right. It was very time consuming to do it this way, but I expected it to be. You can do it very fast and have a so-so job or you can take your time and do a very neat job. Only problem is when you do it the way I did, there is not enough tape to complete. Fortunately I had a friend with some extra I used to finish up with. I really think the it should come in 5 roll pack. Other than that....I recommend this product 5 star."
