The GL3 is among the best performance value rods on the market. These high modulus rods are very lightweight, incredibly responsive, and more sensitive than many rods twice their price. There are other rods as tough and durable as GL3's, but none that are this light. That means you increase your casting distance, greatly
improve your accuracy, and experience far less fatigue after a day on the water.
Every G.Loomis rod is covered by a limited warranty against defects in workmanship and material for the lifetime of the original owner. Should damage occur due to a defect, G.Loomis will, at the company's discretion, either repair or replace the product at no charge.

Boy, isn't this nice.,December 31, 2008
By Jeffbrofrom White River Junction, Vermont.
"This was a Christmas gift to my brother. This past Summer he managed to break his long time pal of a spinning rod on a trip to Canada. Thoroughly bummed, he decided to wait until next Spring to replace it. This is one of those things that he would pick up and admire. He would love to have it, but wouldn't shell out the cash for it.
I coupled this rod with a Shimano reel and gave it to him as a gift. This rod and reel combination is beautiful. The quality is all there. Unfortunately we're pretty deep into Winter here in VT. So I'm going to have to wait to hear how much better it is than his old rod. I know that I can't wait."

SJR782, DOWNRIGHT SENSITIVE!,September 16, 2007
By TurkeyBoy113from Faribault, MN
"Bought the SJR782 rod. Decided to match up my SpiderCast Titanium Alloy Ti30 spinning reel (too bad it's discontinued) that's been eager to have a good workout again. Spooled up Maxima Ultragreen 8 lbs test line. Was shakyhead worming. Oh, dang, it takes a bit ADJUSTMENT to take a feel of everything on the BOTTOM! I FINALLY FELT SOMETHING! I was glad I didn't take Jig-n-Worm or Mossyback spinning rod because the SJR782 solved my problem feeling what's on the bottom while I'm shakyheading. I could be able to feel fish BITE and SET the hook RIGHT. Those fish didn't STAND a chance. Simply put the best 6'6" spinning rod I've used in a long time. If I have to go for another 6'6" spinning rod with spinning reel spooled up with Maxima Ultragreen 8 lbs test line, I would go through this similiar product again with upgrades of IMX and GLXs alike. Long summary cut to the chance, GLoomis have always been the fishing rod that says it all: SIMPLY STATED, TO FISH!"

G. Loomis GL3 Model SR-6010 - Best Backpack Rod!,August 2, 2007
By Zugbugzfrom Avondale, AZ
"I own two of these in the 2-piece version and my opinion is that hands down, it is the finest backpacking spinning rod you can buy. This little 5 footer is a brookie-catching machine! It adds virtually no weight to your pack, it's super light to hold and the action is perfect for the small brookies and cutthroats you often find in the high altitude wilderness. I recently took mine on a backpacking trip to the high Uintas in Utah and could not have been more pleased. I caught dozens of 7-8 inch brookies and cutthroats with it and every one of them was a total pleasure to catch thanks in large part to this rod. Yes, G. Loomis is very 'proud of them' (they should be!) and charges a princely sum, but these rods are worth every penny in my opinion. If you can find the two-piece, buy one - you won't be disappointed!"

G. Loomis GL3 Spinning rood,June 27, 2007
By Frawgg
"Although the rod is a bit delicate and fragile, that's what I expected in an ultra light spinning rod. I use it for catching speckeledtrout, flounder, redfish, and Spanish mackerel on the TexasGulf Coast. The rod has enough backbone to handle redfish 20"-28" but be prepared to have a fight on your hands! The only thing I don't like about the GL3 is the reel seat. When tightening the reel onto the reel seat the locking ring on the front part of the reel seat pushes into the cork if tightened too much."

GLoomis GL3 Spinning rod,March 27, 2007
By esbfly
"I use the 2-4lb, 4-8lb and 4-10lb rods in the SR or Panfish GL3 range to cover all my light line fishing for both freshwater trout and other small saltwater species.
A good basic two-piece spin rod, (hard to find quality in two piece rods) with no frills or fancy blank colouring to spook the fish, (just matte black).
The blank is what you are buying here and the Fuji reel seat and guides are good quality but need care and maintenance. The rod blanks have great characteristics for light-medium lures and line weights while the 4-8lb SR accurately casts the smallest lure with ease.
I've matched all three rods to the Daiwa 'Real Four' series of spin reels, (various sizes) and find the light weight reels suit these light blanks the best for balance.
Only thing of note is that I had to trim down the cork reel seat to take the Daiwa spin reels in the 2000 and 2500 size."

Feel what you've been missing,November 20, 2006
By jimmerfrom Minot, ND
"This rod is more than a Gloomis; it's an extension of your lure or live bait. You can actually feel the bottom, and the fish hitting your bait. The action is beyond any rod I have ever used, I'am sure this is the first of many like it going in my arsenal
The first time I picked it up, felt the balance and saw the workmanship that went into it, I was hooked. After coupling this rod with a matching reel I know that I'am in for years of pleasure."
