"I've had my SJR723 for going on 20 years now and I've used it for everything from bluegills and crappies to bass and walleyes and even northern pike and lake trout. It works equally well for all.
If my bank account would allow, I'd run out and buy a couple more in light and medium actions. This is by far the best spinning rod I've ever owned."

"This rod is the lightest, most sensitive rod for fishing soft plastics I have ever seen. It is also versatile. I use this rod to go after sauger by vertical jigging a 1 ounce jig; I use it to throw craws, grubs and tubes after smallmouth; I use this rod to throw senkos, jigs, and texas rigs after largemouth. I'm sure I could use this rod effectively for redfish and sea trout in Destin. Outstanding!"

"After many fishing trips with a friend of mine who uses Loomis rods, I started to see a pattern. He always caught more fish, well we all know where that is going. I ordered my first Loomis and yes there is a big difference, I swear you can feel fish looking at the lure. My wife will no longer will allow my fishing buddy in the house, so I pick him up on the way. These rods are high end but worth every penny. I will buy more and of course from Cabela's."

"I probably should have researched more, but experience is the best teacher sometimes. I bought an H model and found that the butt section was too long. Also, I found that even broken down, the lenth of the rod made it unwieldly to get into the back of my blazer with the seats up. Also, after a day of fishing, I had a lot of wrist fatigue. This rod did balance nicely with a stradic 4000fh though. I handled quite a few steelhead and redsides without a problem, getting them to the bank quickly for release. The rod handled well in high water and maintained sensitivity. An unfortunate incident with a door reduced the length, and if I find a lot of extra money to throw at a rod again, I'll be more exact about certain aspects."

"Wow, what can I say...when I first fished with this rod I could not believe how light this fishing rod feels in my hand. I have the SJR782 6' 6" and paired it up with a Daiwa Sol 2000 spinning reel. The only other rods which comes close to this rod's sensitivity in my opinion are the St. Croix Elite and Lamiglas Certified Pro Series. I also have the G-Loomis GLX series and believe the IMX series is very comparable in quality."

"This is a great rod to use in streams for everything from Trout to Bass, Walleye, Crappie and perch. It's 7 foot length makes for longer more precise casts, as well as letting you lift line off the water, for a more natural drift. It has the backbone to handle the big ones, yet it is Ultralight, to give some finesse to your presentation."
"This rod is amazing for vertical jigging. It has a super fast action and great sensitivity. You feel every bump on the bottom and every stirke. Its shorter length allows you to get a really fast hook set, reducing the ammount of lost fish. I would recomend it to anyone fishing river walleyes, casting or vertical jigging."
