"This is the second Excalibur 9 tray dehydrator that I have purchased. I didn't purchase a second one because the old one failed me. I made the purchase because there are the best home use dehydrators on the planet. We needed two functional, dependable dehydrators so that we could increase our jerky output. If you are looking for a home use dehydrator, look no further. I've had the other one for several years, and dried hundreds of pounds of jerky with it. It's still going strong. These dehydrators clean easily, they dry meat at the proper temperature, and they store well."

"I had an old five-tray dehydrator of the same brand which I used for many years. The heating unit finally quit. I was pleased to find the same brand in Cabela's. I wasn't sure if I would be able to fill a nine-tray unit, but I needn't have worried. I have dried tomatoes, zucchini, green peppers and parsley from the garden this summer. They have all been excellent. It is very easy to use and to clean."

"This Product allows me to make a huge amount of jerky at one time, it is easy to clean and the front access is especially handy. I really enjoy making jerky with the Excalibur and my kids love the finished jerky. If anyone is thinking about this type of jerky making I would reccomend that they get the Excalibur, because you can do many other things with this porduct other than making jerky."

"I had the 9 tray Excalibur for about 2 years, then sold it to a friend. I traded up to a 10 tray Stainless Steel model by a "reputable" competitor. I miss my excalibur. Although it cracked near the bottom, it was by far a superior dehydrator to my current one. It was quiet, heated evenly, and produced great jerky. I did more than 500 lbs. in mine.
I'm going to consider the Cabelas 80l model. I can only suggest to the folks at Excalibur that they produce a slightly larger dehydrator, with a timer (although I understand that the timer might already be taken care of).
Great product..., you won't be disappointed.

"I bought the 9 tray model and am glad I went for the bigger model. Our family has used this thing almost continuously since it was delivered and wonder why we didn't buy one years ago. My only complaint with this particular model is that it didn't come with a timer. The newer model does for the same price. The overall quality, operation and ease of cleanup are top-notch. One important factor for me in the decision to go with the Excalibur versus all other models, is that it is completely made in the USA and has every piece and part available for purchase should there be any problems or breaks. Don't waste your time or money on cheaper, round models. They don't work as well and don't hold near the amount of food as the Excalibur."

"Amazing, that is the first word that comes to mind. I must admit I was Initially a bit leary after reading the troubleshooting section of the owners manual. I have not experienced a single problem. This unit is a step up from the department store circular shaped dehydrators they sell. The process time to dehydrate a full load of meat is now half the time I used to spend. I have used the circular type for approximately five years. I simply cut the cord off of my old unit, threw it in the trash and am never looking back! I can now spend my time writing recipes for making great jerky!"

"This dehydrator is great. I am very pleased with the product.
Cleanup is a bit tedius as the tray liners don't stack well in the dishwasher and the bottom inside area is recessed.
I also did not recieve the jerky spices with the product."

"I purchased the nine tray version of this product as we grow our own vegetables and make our own jerkey on a regular basis. This product is much easier than using a convection oven and the cleanup is simple. I suggest you try paying with the time table a bit as I have noticed it takes longer than the suggested amount of time for certain foods. I would also suggest scoring the skin of fruits such as grapes and tomatoes before drying as they will dry much faster. We are having a jerkey making party this weekend, I can't wait to see the end results."

"What a great machine. Easy to use and even easier to clean.
In 5 hours I can make 2 LBS. of perfect turkey jerky. I have my own homemade receipt that I have been using for over 15 years and it has never tasted better than with the Excalibur.
I would recommend this machine to everyone. The price is cheap for what you are getting and the results are fantastic.
I'm looking forward to trying some of the friut and yogurt receips but I don't when I'll get around to it since the family won't let me stop making my jerky.
If you've been putting off gettin one of these don't, you don't know what you are missing."

"The Excalibur 9 tray dehydrator works excellent! I used to use a 5 tray dehydrator to dry my beef jerky. I should have bought a 9 tray years ago. With this Dehydrator the fan is so large that the drying time is around 6-8 hours and I get double the meat dried than when I used the 5 tray. This product saves me time and effort. I used to have to rotate the racks on the 5 tray dehydrator every 2-3 hours. I still have to rotate the racks once during an 8 hour period, but that is also the time I check on the meat to see if some of the pieces are already dried. Overall this product is Awesome. I definitly recommend this product."

"Bought the Excalibur for my fiance for Christmas. He was very excited his previous dehydrator was cheap and died 2 years ago after a 6 year run. Not bad for a low cost. So he prepped some duck & goose to make jerky. 2 hours into the dehydrating process the air was cold... Great, ruin batch of jerky. 9 trays worth that was a lot of work. I read the instruction manual and under the trouble shooting section this same problem is listed. Apparently this is a common problem and to avoid having your food go bad you need to check the temperature every 10-15 mins. We've used the Excalibur 4 more time and it seems that the temperature issue happens every other time. Yes it's easy enough to fix but you have to stay on top of the dehydrator, take out all 9 trays of food each time this problem happens. The trays are easy to clean and when it works it works great but they need to remedy the temperature issue."

"I purchased this to share with our daughter who loves making jerky. I dehydrate Strawberries (yum) and anything my garden over produces.
