"I ordered these boots and I am very impressed with the overall quality of leather, stitching, and construction. I have wide feet and the fit was super. I have worn them with jeans, kahkis and shorts and they look great. They are tough looking but not big and clunky. Even though they are Gore-tex they are very light weight and comfortable all day long, warm or cold weather. I have worn them from temperatures in the 80's to inside an ice rink down to the 40's and they are versatile and comfortable. I have received many compliments from friends, one who said "they look really expensive". I did not mind paying the price so long as I received a superior product--and I did. I highly recommend these boots."

"no more foot and ankle pain!!! Very comfortable and cool-looking. No break-in period. Great shoes. Suggest having your foot measured if you haven't done so in a while. My wife made me do this and my shoe size had changed. Got these shoes in the "new" shoe size and they are fantastic. Will definitely get another pair of these and recommend them for anyone who is on their feet all day. They fit true to size. I wear a 10.5 EE and these fit great."

Not as comfortable as my old Danner's.,December 31, 2008

"My old pair of Danner Sharptail chukkas needed replacement. I didn't care for the new design Danner used, so I figured I'd give these Irish Setter's a try. The Cabela's catalog suggested ordering the same size as my normal shoe size. Wrong! I typically wear a 10-1/2. I needed to mail the first pair back to Cabela's to exchange them for a size 10. They look great. I really like the design and the ankle support. They are waterproof, like my old Danner's, but don't feel as insulated. The insulation issue isn't too much of an issue here in Southern California though. I like the soles too, since they don't squeak like so many of my other boots and shoes. Overall, I would recommend them. I just expected a little more out of a boot at this price."

"These are quality boots. Beautiful construction with what appear to be high quality materials. Comfortable out of the box except for one pressure point near top front of one boot, which is greatly decreased after a few days of wear. Nothing unusual for a new pair of boots. Very waterproof yet breath well - my often too-hot feet have been very comfortable. They look good, have shed dirt, road salt etc. just as well as they keep out the water - and have replaceable soles! Red Wing makes these and they have always been good long lasting boots for me."

"The Irish Setter Legend is nice enough to wear to work (business casual of course) but supportive enough for a hike. My shoes were "broken in" after the first day. No problems.
If you have problems with dry feet (cracking on the heal, dry skin) during the winter, try a pair of GOOD goretex shoes. You'll be amazed at the results.
Bottom line: You get what you pay for...and these are worth the $$"

"The boot was quit uncomfortable for me! Usually very happy with Irish Setter products and actually bought this for its name and also based on previous reviews. I sent the boots back and will try another boot. The good: A very durable boot, looks great, dry feet. I just couldn't get over the burning sensation it caused my feet that lasted for a week after every time I wore them."

"From the start, I was very satisfied with the fit, comfort, and style of this boot. It only took a couple of days to break these boots in, and I'm very happy with their ability to repel water and keep my feet dry. My only complaint is this: I use them for work (40 hours per week) and I feel that the soles wore-out quickly. Additionally, if the soles become wet, they get very slippery. Be careful on wet concrete floors! Overall, a very good boot with great comfort and "water-proofness"."

"I'm going to Ireland for a month in November and I need a waterproof pair of boots that would be presentable enough to wear in pubs, restaurants, etc., yet tough enough to go hiking in. I've tested them twice already here in Oregon in pretty wet conditions, and they've been great. Comfortable from the moment I put them on, and good looking enough to fall in the "casual" category. I'm looking forward to giving them the ultimate "wet test" where it REALLY rains!"

"We have casual dress at our company and I wear these boots with other Cabela's clothes like the Lakeside Cargo Pants and the Wind River Crew t-shirt. I never wear anything but boots and these go great with just about everything. They seam very well built and are light enough to were all day.
