Keep your gun dog or family pet safe at home with this affordable, effective hidden fence system. The quick and simple setup takes all the guesswork out of installation. Simply install the boundary wire 1" to 2" below the surface in any configuration and hook up the wall mount transmitter.
A constant signal runs through the wire so it is always ready to let your pet know that he is getting close to the boundary. Base kit includes 500 feet of wire, enough to cover a 1/2 acre. You can cover up to three acres by purchasing additional wire and connecting it to your original setup. You can even use it for specific, smaller areas such as swimming pools or gardens. Your dog wears a lightweight, water-resistant collar that fits snugly around necks from 7" to 20" in diameter. When the dog approaches the boundary, he hears a warning tone. If he continues, a mild static correction reminds him to stay in the "safe" part of the yard. If he tries to cross the boundary and leave the safe zone, the correction level is automatically raised for maximum, but safe, deterrence. The interchangeable long and short contact probes accommodate dogs of varying hair lengths. The complete system includes the wall-mount transmitter, collar receiver with nylon strap, test light, wire, 50 training flags and installation/training video, and 6-volt battery for collar. One-year warranty. Receiver dimensions: 2-1/8" x 1-1/8" x 1-1/2". Receiver weight: 3.7 oz.

GS-1000 Gun Dog Containment System,March 1, 2010
By AussiePupOwnerfrom Shreveport, LA
"The containment system was easy to install. I particularly liked the pictures/diagrams provided with the instructions. The system has proved effective in keeping my 18 month old Australian Cattle dog mix in her yard.
My only suggestion would be that the power source have a separate on/off switch as this would allow you to keep the intensity at the selected setting.
All in all, I would and have recommended this product to friends."

works great,February 21, 2010
By BlkLabOwnerfrom Mountain Home, Idaho
"This containment system works great! I have 2 dogs that were tearing up the landscaping in my military housing and darting out the front door everytime the kids opened it. The first day I installed this system I walked each dog around it's boundary. They both learned immediatly exactly where they were safe and where to stay away from. It only took a couple of times showing them their boundary. Also, the warning tone given off by the coller is a good feature; My dogs will imediatly turn around when they hear it."

Works well when it works,November 10, 2009
By NWFatboyfrom Maine
"This unit worked great the first year. From the first to second year kept having to find sections that didn't work. A couple times there were breaks but the majority of the times it was defective wire. After 2 years I have replaced 75% of the original wire a little at a time. It's a real pain to have to search for where a defect is on a 1000 ft run. I just purchased new wire I hope it solves the problem"

worked for 3 weeks,September 24, 2009
By BirdDoggyfrom UT
"I picked a bad time to dig a trench around my property but after installing the system it did a fine job of keeping my dog at home. The neighbor dog dug up my wire one day and after splicing it, and checking my splice with a multimeter, I never could get it to work again. I will have to bury another wire and hope nothing disturbs it this time. I really think the wireless system is worth the extra money."

Great Product,June 16, 2009
By Jacksonev1from Southport, FL
"Works great, have a male dog that we couldn't keep in the chainlink fence no matter what we did. He even learned how to open the gate or climb the fence. It only took a few days to train him to the Containment System and now we don't even have to close the gates. Wish we had installed this years ago!"

Works 1st time,January 13, 2009
By Roacheeto
"I followed the instructions and go figure, it worked. Easy to set up, easy to train your dog. The first time the dog approached the short gate I have, that he's been jumping, it corrected him. The next time I went out of the yard through that same gate he stopped about 15 feet before it. When I came home he was laying in the yard for the first time in the 6 months I've had him."

not great,January 4, 2009
By howiemfrom Albuquerque, New Mexico
"I have had this system in my yard for several years now and basically it is pretty delicate. The wire needs repaired often. The collars don't stand up to normal wear on my dogs. I started with a pair and have replaced several. They aren't cheap, amounting to fifty percent of this entire system. A steady drain on the wallet. The system works okay when it's working."

cabela's gun dog containment system,October 1, 2008
By Onvacation
"I have 1 large dog and 3 small dogs that stay in the back yard in a 6' fence and when the neighbors dog came into heat my large dog started crawling under the fence to get out and get to her. I had to repair the fence in several places where he was getting out and the small dogs would follow him. I then decided on the containment system to keep him away from the fence, so the little dogs would not get out and it only took him going up to the fence 3 times before he learned that was not safe anymore. Now my small dogs do not get out anymore either. I would strongly recommend this unit to anyone it is worth the money I paid for it."

GREAT VALUE!!!,July 21, 2008
By WesBfrom Alabama
"Very pleased with product. I installed 1000 feet of wire. Our dog was basically trained in 3 days. He now has room to run and play. To keep him out of a certain area all I have to do now it place the flags in the ground (without the wire) and he avoids the area. Overall very pleased with the product and the results."

Hidden electric dog containment,July 7, 2008
By joe28from California
"I found the system to be straight-forward to install, except that the splices provided in the kit do not match up with what/how the instructions say to use them. The call-in help line is great--they give you simple "how to" tips and encourage calling back with any questions. My dog (Alaskan Malemute) quickly learned what areas to avoid although he can differentiate when he has the collar on or off, and doesn't pay much attention to the off-limits areas without the collar. Good system at an affordable price."

Great system---5 yrs. + w/out problems,May 21, 2008
By bluemountainfrom Deerfield, WI
"Was just online ordering an extra collar and stopped to read a couple reviews about this system so I had to give my 2 cents. This is an excellent and VERY cost effective system. We have 2 high energy American Eskimo dogs who both easily trained on this system in a short time (less than a week). I've had to get 2 extra collars since I bought this system over 5 years ago because they stopped working for one reason or another, but the cost of $59.99 for an extra collar is nothing when you consider an Invisible Fence company wanted to charge me over $1000 just to install their version of this system. Batteries are easy to replace in the collars & easy to find in stores. I'm also impressed that we've been able to buy extra collars for this long since our original purchase and they are still compatible with the system. If you're a knowledgable dog owner and you know how to train your pet, you'll have no problem training on this system (there are obvious exceptions i.e. reviewer with large, fast dog or metal fence obstructions). My dogs are 35lbs and 17lbs so small and medium size dogs are fine on it. You can even buy a "reducer" if you don't want the smaller dogs to receive as big of a correction. You need to make sure your yard is big enough for this system if you want them to be able to run free around your house. Sometimes lot lines are too close for this to happen. Do your research and then buy this system! Hope this was helpful to someone!!"

WORKED GREAT,February 4, 2008
By diggler96from central California
"I have a male Labrador Retreiver that is a year and a half old and enjoys chewing on the wood fence in the back yard. I bought this particular containment system for the price and for the sole purpose of keeping my dog away from the fence. It has worked perfectly and the battery in the collar seems to hold a charge for approximately a month. I would recommend this system for those who not only want to contain their dog, but those who want to keep their dog out of certain areas of the yard. It was also fairly easy to install."

Not good for large dogs,September 28, 2007
By dnolan
"I live in a subdivision with a larger than normal yard. With this system, in order to keep my lab within the boundry, I have to turn the system all the way up. This starts the warning buzzer and then the shocking at about 15 feet from the actual wire. This means he has no way to get from the back yard to the front yard without going at full speed and then he still gets shocked before he is all the way there. This fence would be good for a smaller dog without much speed. You could then lower the intensity on the wire and give them more actual yard space. For larger dogs, I think you need a containment fence that adjusts the intensity on the collar and the wall unit. This one does not."

Too much trouble,August 9, 2007
By ArkansasSteve
"This thing is a nightmare. If you have wires underground or a metal fence, bad news. Everything has to be 6 feet from metal. The training is intense for the dog and owner. Keeping the collars intact is rough... and if you have multiple dogs, they will chew the collars off each other. Just a very complex solution to the digging dog problem.
Here is how to fix it... buy rolls of chicken wire, 2 feet wide. Lay that down along your fence and stake it down. The dogs can't dig through it.. and grass will quickly grow to cover it. No maintenance, no unsightly stuff in your yard. Inexpensive."
