Butchering Set,

"I bought this same set several years, I gave it to a buddy a few years ago because he liked it and have just replaced it. I didn't have it last year and really missed this set. Don't go thinking it's made for a butcher shop to process meat everyday. it's not, but it is great in the field, everthing needed to gut your animal is in one box. I would recommend it to anyone."

"I was not pleased at all with the butchering set. The case was bent up and the saw blades where rusted and some of the knife handles where scratched and I called and the lady on the phone is sending me a new one and have not seen that one yet but hope it is a lot better than the first one"

"Just received this kit for Christmas. Upon opening the kit I noticed that the quality of the knifes was inferior. I had to go through and sharpen each one. The saw frame was quite weak. I have not used any of the pieces yet. For the price it is worth it."

"Used this set 2 wks ago to skin and cut up a young button buck. Initially the knives were very sharp however quickly dulled. Sharpened easily with the sharpening rod. Used only once, review may improve in the future."

"I just tried to use the set this weekend at deer camp and the knives did great....but the wing nut on the saw was the incorrect size and there was rust on the blades...and the box wasn't even opened yet. But all in all it work for what I was doing."

"For the price of the set it is a good product. It is not the highest quality butuchering set, but it is fully capable of getting the job done. I had to get a new nut for the hacksaw. The one that came with it was cracked."

"To start, half of the knives in the set were dull right out of the box. Tried to sharpen them which turned out to be a mission in itself. Finally got a decent edge on some but they don't hold an edge. I knew I was buying a cheap set of knives but I never imagined that they would be this bad. You're better off spending more money on a better quality set of knives."

"you do get what you pay for, but my set does just fine with deer, geese, snapping turtle, and small game animals. the knives do seem to dull fairly quick, but they sharpen back up quick as well. they are heavy enough to cut through frozen roasts for slicing into jerky and prying in between joints to remove a leg quarter. ive never had any of the problems with the saw as other reviewers ran into, but with 3 more replacement blades in hand ill be fine if one does snap. so far ive used the saw for sawing through deer ribs and turtle shell with good, fast results. no this isnt the absolute highest quality set on the market, but it will get the job done."

"The case was so cheap that it would not hold the knives right.
The knives were ok. they still have an edge. They were useful.
The case was just as important, so they could transported easily. And the case FAILED badly."

"This butcher set went on a caribou hunt this November, and was very instrumental in skinning, quartering, and beboning 32 caribou on this trip. The blades all keep an edge well, but sharpen quickly and easily when necessary. Great quality product for the price."

"The knives are of a very poor quality steel and do not hold and edge requiring multiple touch ups per "quarter" on the deer.
Tonite was the first time I tried the block and tackle- the rope broke! and it must be strung incorrectly from the factory because I had to "twist/rotate" the lower set of pulleys to get it to operate smoothly.
In short jootb..Junk out of the box"

"Unless, you have someone on your gift list you really dislike, don't purchase this cheap set. It isn't worth 5 cents.
The saw will fall apart when you try to saw anything. The knifes are tin and hold no edge.
You get what you pay for and this shouldn't be sold on Cabela's web site."
