"Although this book was not a book of recipes like I was expecting, it gave an excellent history of the Dutch oven and how it can be used in so many different ways. The author including some good ideas for different setups for cooking and for the proper care of all cast iron cookware. Definitely a good book for those new to Dutch ovens. He did include a short chapter of recipes but I will be buying another book of just recipes."

"I have used cast iron in the kitchen for years, but I was not sure how to care for it outdoors or while camping. This book solved that problem. It has great tips on storing, transporting, cooking, and cleaning, your cast iron dutch ovens. Buyer be warned. This is not so much a cook book. It dose have some good recipes, but mostly it is a how to book. If you have never used cast iron indoors or out I would say this book is a must."
