The perfect hunting coat,September 4, 2009

"I beleive this is the perfect cold weather hunting coat & bibs. I wore it in northern Pa for opening day of deer season. The weather was miserable, cold, snow, and wind. I was able to stay on stand and stay warm & dry. The coat & bibs are very quiet, even in extreme cold. Don't let the high price turn you away. Save your $$ and buy it, you won't regret it. It doesn't get any better."

">>I've had them all but this coat is by far is the lightest,warmest coat I've ever worn. I usually wear a 2xl tall and ordered that. After I received and wore it a few times I was concerned about the sleeve length. I emailed customer service and asked if I ordered a 3xl and compared the two I could return one. No problem was the answer. I received and compared the two and the 3xl tall was the perfect fit. I returned the 2xl and in a short time I was credited. I read another review say he wore just a t shirt underneath the coat and was warm. I totally agree. It's been really cold in Nebraska lately and that coat and a t shirt is all I've been wearing. Might think about ordering a size larger.than you wear.And it it is a cold weather garment. Been dealing with Cabela's for many years and they sell quality and they stand by their product."

Love these clothes for late season!,January 16, 2009

"I did my late season deer hunting with this parka and the bibs this year (I'm still hunting in January). These clothes keep you warm. I've worn them from the teens to the low 30's and have been very comfortable in them to the point that I can pretty much sit all day in the teens with proper base layer. I am also very careful not to sweat on the walk in.
5 stars, you will not be disappointed. These are great quality, lots of storage and very warm. I know how it feels at 20 degrees in clothes that are not made for the task, these are pricey but worth every penny when you can make it out for the cold weather hunting. The fact that they offer these in tall sizes is excellent as well. I am 6'3" and need that extra sleeve, body, and pants length in this kind of gear."

"I purchased this parka for early spring and late fall open water fishing in Minnesota. I found it to be warm, lightweight, windproof and quiet. I fished in below freezing temps with 10 to 20 mile winds and stayed warm. I prefer the parka's attached adjustable hood over the detachable type which can unzip through use and movement. The parka has loads of useful pockets inside and out with zipper pulls for easy open and close. I didn't get to test the gore-tex but I am sure it is waterproof based on my past experience with other gore-tex products. If you want a warm and dry cold weather parka, the MT050 Whitetail Extreme is the way to go."

"This is the warmest parka I have ever had, wore just a T-shirt under the parker to see how warm it would keep me, 14 degrees high that day, sat all day in my deer ground blind and I am telling you I was not at all cold. This parka holds your body heat in 100% I would not ever beleived that if I didn,t actually try it. Great Parka, Trousers to match are also just as warm"

"I was able to use this parka this year in the North Maine Woods. It is quite warm, light in weight and quiet with plenty of pockets. It was wind proof and I am sure that with the gore tex lining it is virtually water proof. The hood however is permanently attached to the parka. I prefer a parka like the White Tail Wool & Fleece series where there is a high collar and a removable hood."

"I have owned many GoreTex products from Cabella's over the years and they have all been outstanding. Each one has lasted a minimum of 10+ years!! This jacket is excellent and designed well. It is very warm and waterproof. It blocks high winds. It is also very comfortable to wear. The pockets are great. There are some things to get used to however. The outer shell is soft and so is the inside shell. I am used to a vinyl inner layer. I also tend to have rough hands which catch the soft shell often. (It is just something I am not used to.) I also note that the pocket zippers tend to open and close different than earlier jackets. I believe this needs to be done differently. The hood is well designed but the draw strings open and close differently. I think this is a great design, since I have often had high winds blow old draw strings into my eyes rather painfully. This design prevents that. Overall, the jacket is excellent! It is very warm in snow and high winds. It is quiet and comfortable to wear. It is a great jacket and a great design. Cabella's has done an outstanding job again!!"

"Love this parka. I live in Maine and the weather is notorius for being less than pleasent. I hunted this December and was very warm and dry. I hesitated buying this parka for awhile because of the cost. Boy, is it worth it. The pockets are well laid out and the zippers move with one hand. Thats important when you carry a bow in your other hand. Looking forward to having Cabelas in Maine, 3 miles from my house."

"I for one am hard to keep warm. I guess it's due to my disability in being a c4-5 quadriplegic, but I'm very pleased with how warm this parka keeps me. The jacket's overall weight is light allowing me to perform all the tasks in any type of hunting situation. Unlike the big bulky snow jackets I've tried before. "This has to be the best Cold gear that i have, as a matter of fact it's the only gear i have. The parka has lots of room for calls, other gear. but most of all this stuff WILL keep you warm. i have hunted in 0 degrees with wind holwing i can say that i never got cold and sat in my stand all day. This stuff is GREAT"
