"they are to low cut around the ankle for me......they squeak when you walk in them, but they are not really broken in yet.....bought them only because tempest were out of stock....tempest is the best boot as far as I am concerned...."

Waterproof boot,

"The boot's too short. Every other 9 and a half wide from every other manufacturer has fit just fine. This mfgr. must have forms from a different size. I thought I could "make do" with them but they hurt too much and don't seem to want to "break in". Ouch!"

"I bought my first pair a few years ago. They are so
comfortable and I like them so well I still wear them for everyday use. I recently bought a second pair, so I would have a " good " pair for special occasions."

Not the Quality I Expected,

"Right out of the box I found these shoes to be uncomfortable, and very stiff to walk in. In addition, the leather was creaking and groaning loudly, which I'm not going to have at work.
Years ago it was common to get a pair of shoes in this condition, and have to oil them and walk in them for a period of time to "break" them in. In my youth we did it every time, with all shoes. But this is the first time I've tried a pair of leather shoes with this problem in recent years.
Since the top of the shoe isn't as tall as some chukkas, and due to the shape of the shoe, the stiffness caused the top to put pressure on my ankle in a very uncomfortable manner.
My last pair of shoes from Cabela's was great. But these I'm sending back."

"These are classy shoes that are made well for the money. Nothing fancy, just a "sophisticated rugged" look that is very comfortable, especially around the ankle. They seem to run a little small, so I had to go a size up."

"I PURCHASED THE GORETEX CHUCKAS FOR MY FATHER FOR CHRISTMAS, BECAUSE HE NEVER WEARS BOOTS TO SHOVEL HE WILL WEAR WHATEVER HE HAPPENS TO HAVE ON HIS FEET AT THE TIME. Disappointed in look and feel!,

"The Excursion Chukka was not what I anticipated. The boot had an overall "plastic look" to it. The color was a "faded Maroon". The pebbled texture felt artificial. Maybe this is the sacrifice one assumes when purchasing a waterproof shoe at this price point. The instep/arch side of the boot had excess leather that had a buckled or puffy appearance. It did not lay down smoothly. I did not keep the shoe long enough to assess break in or comfort. I returned the Excursion to Cabela's and received a prompt, no questions asked refund of my purchase price.
Though I did not care for the shoe, I do give Cabela's customer service and return policy a 5 STAR rating."

"Excellent workmanship and since they are Gore-Tex they are ideal for anyweather. Bought the shoes as the other Cabelas shoes i have boughten have been the same guality. I use one pair for church and other ones for every day use. No break in time and they are very comfortable. I would recommend these shoes to any of my friends."

"I think these are good boots. My feet have been a bit sore breaking them in but not terribly bad. I think they are well built. The soles are marking so when I am chasing my daughter around the house playing hide and seek, I do leave some marks on our wood floor. I am glad I have them for the winter coming up. I have treated them also with the Nikwax gortex sealer in hopes to preserve the leather and hoping they will last a long time."

"I have worn these for nearly 2 years about 4 days a week. They are comfortable and long lasting and have remained waterproof to the end. I have spent time afield hunting deer, turkey and quail in these.
The only complaint I could possibly have is the compound the sole is composed of is soft and wears off the traction lugs of the sole in the first year."

"Chukka shoes are a high quality footwear that are very comfortable to wear.Although,it did take several miles to break in the Excursion Gore-Tex chukka boots,they proved to be very high in quality of materials an workmenship.I enjoy wearing my shoes when I go for a leisure walk, an find my self looking at my shoes while walking which adds to the enjoyment of my outing."

"These Chukka's were comfortable right out of the box. No break in required. They let your feet breath too. I plan on wearing them year round and will get another pair if these wear out.
