"I bought these for a trip to Alaska (08).
I will say that these are probably the warmest boots I have ever owned. I am very impressed with them; even though they feel heavy when you put them on, after just a couple of minutes of wearing them, I could not even tell I had them on.
I wore these with a pair of wool socks in -30 degree for roughly 5 hours; when I came in the house; my feet felt like they had been resting near a nice warm fire......
I would and already have recommended these to everyone I know that deals with the cold.

"These boots are built tough and they are warm. Good Job Sorel. They only come in whole sizes and run a little on the big side, so if your a 10.5 like me the ten fits like a glove with a little room between the booty and rubber casing. Cabela's thank you for the great service.

"Then don't buy these boots!!
Best in sedentary conditions. I purchased these to keep warm at a football game and they were unbelievable! If warmth is your primary consideration these boots are for you! Any snow activities where feet warmth is essential these will fit the bill. Only criticism would be that they are heavy so if you have a lot of walking or movement needed perhaps not the best. My wife initially didn't want them due to the cute factor but after she wore them and her feet stayed warm the cute factor wasn't as important. They are big, bulky, and heavy but what do you expect if you want something to keep your feet warm at -100 degrees? I am glad I bought them."

"Used these for only one day of ice fishing so far, but they were great. Temperature was low 30's; had lots of sun, so didn't really challenge the insulation fully. However, I was on the ice for 8+ hours and my feet stayed warm and dry. I did wear thermal socks, too. Traction on the snow-covered ice was fine."

"first time w/ theses boots, got them thru recommendation of a friend. was going to montana for a weeks worth of snowmobiling. the first two ad a half days it was snowing quite alot .. the next three days were clear and sunny.... the average high temp for the week was 4 degrees above 0. with lows in the neg. 20's .... the boots performed very well, my feet never got cold, and i had on std socks. (silks w / normal ski socks) by the 3rd - 4th day .. (the coldest.) I noticed some dampness in the boots by the end of the day .. I was worried that I may experience some chilled feet, but ... no . the boots performed very well and even tho I had some moisture inside the boots.. they worked very well."

"They're definitely warm, and totally dry no matter how long I'm out or how deep the snow is. Only complaint is that they are really bulky, but I guess that's the trade-off for warm dry feet. It'd be great if they made a shorter version, maybe ankle-high, for when the it's slushy and wet but not that deep."

"These are great boots - I live just south of the Artic Circle, and these are the best boot I've found for keeping my feet warm and dry. If I had one suggestion - the liners need loops on the top so you can keep them from sliding down while putting your foot into them. Otherwise these are awesome boots. Just don't be in a hurry - they're big and heavy - a price I can pay to keep my feet warm in -40 weather!"
